So I was playing around on Falcon NW and made the most expensive computer I could and here are just a few of the things it had. Price was like $21,000.

Power Supply- Silvertone 1200 Watt Strider-Modular
Operating System- Windows XP Pro- 32 bit
Motherboard-EVGA 790i Ultra SLI
CPU- Intel Core 2 Quad Extreme QX9770 3.2Ghz
CPU Cooler- Icon Watercooling Kit
Memory - 8GB (4x2GB) 1066MHZ DDR3
Video Cards- 3x Nvidia Geforce GTX 280 1GB DR3

This way out of my price range, which is more like maybe a $600 comp max. Go ahead and tell what you think of this. BTW

I think the power supply wouldn't be able to handle that, AND I think that's insanely overpriced given that hardware. :inquisitive: :dizzy2:

What will really increase the price is if you throw in something like 4 32 GB Solid State Drives. They are easily 3,000-4,000 dollars a piece

I think your 32-bit Windows isn't going to make use of the 8GB RAM.

Exactly what I thought, makes no sense at all.

Like I said, this was an experiment born out of boredom to see how expensive I could make a computer.

I think you made some mistakes in configuring your system.

I just went on there and for $16,989.80, I got this:

It doesn't even include the custom painting and stuff which would've added anoher $1500

Hmmm, well I just jumped everything up to the most expensive it could get so I most likely included those.

What are you planing to do with 8 GB RAM? Either way, you probably do not need to spend over 1200 USD to get something that will run pretty much anything smoothly. Moreover, I think that if you tried to get that build to launch, it would fail. Assuming of course something does not melt or go boom.

I built a PC in spring '07 for around $800 that still runs most games on high settings with playable frame rates. Anyone who'd actually spend 10-20k for a personal computer should have their head examined. :beam:

Yeah, and it would still only get 12 FPS in Flight Simulator X with with all sliders maxed. ~:(
