I'm creating a greater assortment of regional generals for my Alex Mod Project, since there are leftover unit slots which can be filled. I've built most of them the same way the EB team did; by only making small modifcations to existing units. Here's what I have builts so far and where they're recruitable. Keep in mind, anyone can use this, since the EB team left 12 - 20 unit slots (depending on who you talk to) free for us to use.

Arabian Chieftain : Basically, arabian missile cavalry tribal levies without any missle fire, better stats, and small change to thier modelling to only charge. This unit will be the default unit throughout Nabatea and Arabia.

DONE

Judean Puppet Prince : Modelled off of Kings Herod and Aggripa; who had bodyguards consisting of Gauls, Germans, and Thracians. This is basically a small change to the Ptolemy's "Kleruchoi" unit, with a Judean Royal Seal blended into thier shield, making the distinction that this territory always required the facade of independence until later provincial status. This unit will be recuitable based off of Hellenized of Romanized Judeans siding with the faction owning Judea. This unit is only recruitable in Judea, and will be the default general here.

DONE

Axumite Prince : HAven't even started this one. Unfortunately, not very familiar with Axumite units. Would a local general of Axum have a core of local Cavalry beefing him up, or would he be with the infantry?Which unit would be best used as an axumite prince? I have already brought back the Eithiopia Agema in this build, so if you feel that this unit would best represent an Axumite general's bodyguard, please feel free to say so. Would they accopany the Heavy Infantry, Cavalry or possibly the Archers? or would they still have chariots?

MUCH INPUT NEEDED

Indian Majarajah : Basically only recruited in India. Just as Alexander gave much of the Indian lands he conquered back to thier native Rulers, they would have kept thier royal retainers. Further, they simply have a small number of loyal, unroutable Indian elephants. (very small in number) This has been completed; the only question is; what to call them?

SOME INPUT NEEDED

Iberian Lesser King : I know nothing about what puppet kings might have been like in Iberia. What unit best describes thier ratainers? I'm currently thinking the Iberian Heavy Infantry or the Iberian Medium Cavalry. Any anyone has any suggestions, please fee free. Haven't even started this one.

MUCH INPUT NEEDED

Spartan Lesser Prince : When Sparta was conquered by the Diadochi, they were allowed to field some of thier own units in exchange reatining nominal independence. This is the same unit as the Greek Bodyguard, but will only be allowed in Sparta, and will only be created by spawning a Client King. You will NOT be able to recruit these, even with maxed MICs.

DONE

If anyone has additional requests, or has any comments, please post. I'm looking for more input before I finished with this sometime this week.

Hehe, since most of my general units are pretty much based on current units EB Team members have already created, there's really not a lot of new things to see in the battlemap. However, here's a picture of the Judean Royal Bodyguard. Next to them is th new unit Judean Levy Spearmen.

Also, here's an excerpt from the details of the new unit : Arabian Tribal Chieftain. These units can be recruited throughout the Peninsula, and are the default rulers of many of these provinces for a type 4 government.

Arabian Tribal Chieftain
Much of the Arabian Penninsula outside of the major city states consisted of petty kingdoms run by tribal Chieftains. Some of these Chieftains paid allegance to the the ruler of a local principality. Most of them however operated as Bandit Kings. The tribes often existed in a state of perpetual low level war with thier neighbors; through raiding each other's herds or banding together for larger raids on settled areas. The men who led these tribes had to be fierce warriors surrounded by loyal retainers. While the majority of the tribal Cavalry might be relegated to Skirmishing, the Chieftain and his picked men of the tribe must be ready to charge into the heart of an enemy. They are therefore more heavily armored than other Arabian cavalry. Fortunately for powers intent on conquering the lands of the Arabs, these men can be bought; at least temporarily. \n\n

Historically, the Arabs were a far-flung people, raised on the backs of camels and horses while crossing desert as traders or living the rugged life of the nomad. While they might generally have
chosen the high perch of a camel for their travels, in battle, their horses were the prefered mount. Brought literally into a new saddle, they excelled in combat, well-served by the balance learned from riding a camel, and despite their light armor and armament, fought with skill - though not always with dedication.

I believe I've decided that the Iberian General unit will be the Iberian Heavy Infantry; since they were on occasion used by the Romans. Still looking for input on what to call the Indian Generals and Ethiopian General Units.

Just want to say this would add some interesting flavor to the game, looking forward to seeing it implemented.

I would go for "Bharatava Maharaja" or "Indian great king"

"Basileos megalou" in IndoGreek coins has the "Maharaja" in the opposite side.

Please note that I have an absolutely rudimentary "copy/paste" knowledge of Sanskrit, so I might be wrong on the Bharatava (from Bharat, the ancient name of Indians for India). Maharaja however is correct.
