Hey longtime lurker few time poster :p
What I am wondering is if it is possible to 'downgrade' a settlement such as make a huge city a town again, either through making the palaces/warlords hold destroyable or some other method. Also is it possible to make the walls, roads and farms destroyable or are they hardcoded?
I've never seen anything like that, perhaps it's hardcoded , I dont know heheh:sweatdrop:
add_population sttlement -x (x is nmber).
but reducing a ciies status? hardcoded AFAIK

Indeed, it is hardcoded and impossible to make a city smaller.
A shame too. I wish the "exterminate" option or a new fourth option to "raze" or something would reduce the city size when conquering.
It is a shame there isn't a way to reduce size. You can kind of reduce sizes indirectly in M2TW, when switching between cities and castles.

So there is no way to destroy walls?
Cause I really hate taking over Gallic settlements as the Romans and having to stick with their ugly über walls! It kinda feels like an ewok village!

The way it is probably is meant to prevent the player from making cities worthless (by destroying core buildings) or easier to reconquer (by destroying walls) when their fall is unavoidable.
