True...
I am playing with the Germans now,and have qonuered most of europe,but it had many revolts cause I got excomunicated.
U cant just call a crusade either.
When U are excomunicated,U can't call a crusade...
I also have conquered the papacy.
Even then U can't call one.
I needed that crusade badly because I had the just a bit more troops at my border with the egyptians,with whon I had a war.
But they had better troops...Was a real bad war..took me abot 40 or 50 years to cripple them.
By the way...
The Danes can't call a Crusade either?

Couldn't agree more.

They seem to get better generals too, byzant's & novog*** generally turn out higher ranking generals, don't know if it's intentional or not, but it helps.

Plus the Ortho'xs get to pick up the pieces of the mostly failed Jihads/Crusades - a handy opportunity if you prepare.

Quite fun watching the catholics and muslims slaughter each other, while I mass at the border, then fight the 60-man rebel remnant.

Ok.Agreed with the catholic disadv. but what about the Jihad? They just cannot produce princesses? Its something minor.Well ok a Jihad cannot conquer but rather recapture,but then you can have 3 or 4 of them at the same time.

I don't like the way that little dude standing beside the Pope looks at me when I've been excommunicated. He's got that look of disdain that makes me want to slap him.....

Ok...

Orthodox soak up Crusades (Jihads usually don't go though their lands)...

But you can't say that Catholics get Crusades on a whole.
Of playable factions neither the Danes nor the Poles get to Crusade, and all but the Aragonese of the Catholic non-playable factions don't to do it either. So it is more half and half.
