IIRC we have some Jewish fellows here. I'd like to ask for a favor if they are (still) lurking around.
First of all, is it possible to translate a Hebrew text written in Latin alphabet ?

In other words, no I do not speak Hebrew, nor can I help you translate / transcribe anything to and from Hebrew. But it is possible to transcribe Hebrew in Latin alphabet. Or a Latin language in Hebrew alphabet.
I'm curious - what do you want translated?

I take this as a "Yes I'm a bloody Latin-able Hebrew speaker". So will you please help translation of this, Louis ? :daisy:
Edit: :daisy: ! I had not seen your latter post. Anyways, still, this is the Hebrew part of a rap song of a Turkish rapper named Sagopa Kajmer. I'm thrilled with -as I am with Arabic as well- Hebrew phonetics and also I want to know what the following lines mean. Hopefully some Hebrew speaking fellow comes along and helps meh.

It's a recipe for chicken soup.
It's a recipe for chicken soup.
Don't be silly. It's obviously a Herbrew rendition of Sir Mix-a-lot's classic "Baby Got Back."

Are we supposed to read it left to right or right to left?

Difficult one, LEN - I've found plenty of online translators, but they ALL need hebrew input in Hebrew script.
As for my own abilities, I never progressed far beyond "B'rashith Elohim..."
"In the beginning God/ess/es...." which always raises some interesting theological speculations :2thumbsup:

Well no such translators succeed at accurate translation since obviously translation is a matter of interpretion as well as one-to-one equivalents of words in each language.
Thanks though.
Marshal Murat, this is how it is sung. So It should be from left to right.

So true - you can get some very odd results, due to differences in grammar and idiom. Even word-for-word accuracy will be lacking, and poetry is doubly difficult. I always say that with good prose you need to read between the lines, but with good poetry you must read between the words :book:

gid'on hatırla zor olacağını söylemiştin
geldim ve burası aynı yer değil.
önyargılar, kategoriler, her daim sorular
solcu musun, sağcı mısın? ben sadece insanım
nakarat (iztik shamly):
zor günler geçirdim,
ve buraya geldim
ben sadece insanım
her daim savaştım
hiç pes etmedim
ben sadece insanım
ikinci verse (shi 360):
anonim kahraman - insan!
nakarat (iztik shamly):
zor günler geçirdim,
ve buraya geldim
ben sadece insanım
her daim savaştım
hiç pes etmedim

Sorry for arriving so late. Although I may have seemed online, I wasn't browsing the fora for a few days.

I just translated this song, but as I am new to the site, I think my reply went to the Administrator. can you get the email from him/her?
I will try to do this quickly for you. I will type the translation under each line. when you see.... it means I do not know that the word is. I am not Israeli so I am translating to the best of my ability.

Id just like to point out that just because a member might be Jewish does not mean he or she is fluent in Hebrew. :whip:
