I'll post this here-first time i'm posting in this part of the forum:

I'm a bit confused about which size of image is best for a screenshot. Screenshots I've posted so far (with my little knowledge of these things) have been way too big for the screen/post.

So whats a good size?

And how do you alter the size?

This typically depends upon a user's screen resolution. Most users nowadays use a resolution above 1024x768 pixels, and for this screen size about 800x600 is an Ok size. For those with smaller screen sizes though, this will be problematic for them with cross page scrolling. If I had to recommend a size, 800x600 probably would be the largest size you can do without causing too many problems for others, but if you combine it with additional tags, you may be able to go slightly larger.

As an alternative to editing the size, you could place the image between either "" or "" tags which allow the the image to be hidden until it a user chooses to view it. This can be convenient for small screen sizes since it allows those users to hide/show the image at will. Of course you still must be mildly conscientious of image size, but slightly less that you would be without the tags.

An example of the "" tags:

A handy tip - you can now scale your images in the forums enhanced editor. To activate it, click the "https://forums.totalwar.org/vb/images/sdojo/editor/switchmode.gif" button in the top right hand corner of the screen. To use the function, select the inserted image and then drag the tabs on each corner to re-size it.

Thanks so very much, Omanes Alexandrapolites!

Really appreciate the prompt reply, and delighted by the care and response on the forum.

There are some horror stories of other forums I've been on and had to leave...

Thanks again.

All the best.
