I can't seem to be able to even try. The assassin does not highlight as I position him over the king.

I was so hoping to do so. He was a 5 star assassin who already had the pope on his victims list!

Also regarding assassins...how do you kill a general in an army other than the leader? Is it even possible?

No, u'd have to remove that particular general's unit from the army.
