View Full Version : Hey EB team, Great Job, I love Saba and the mod
I started a campaign as Saba and before I knew it many hours had past and it was 255 BC. The faction is very well done and a step up from its unfinished version in the previous. I heavily recommend it for a challenge and a change. They are a poor faction at first, but once you have mines established and trade links set up, you are a rolling in cash in a very safe position in the world. They are quite unique. I love the desert warfare and infantry generals.
I also wanted to say I'm continually amazed by each version of this mod. I didn't think there would be much of a difference in the new versions, but somehow you keep improving the game play each time.
Once again, thank you EB team. I just can't wait for EB II. I'll be bring my desktop to uni and I just bought kingdoms so I can play.

Seconded. The team needs more encouragement of this sort. Otherwise they might decide to quit. I'm not sure any of us want to face that possibility.

Hmmm...quit's a strong word. Some may lose interest or slow down due to lack of substantial progress. Those that do quit usually do so for issues in real life. Programming is a hard business, after all. Especially considering the fact that this is all non-for-profit. However, most members are very dedicated to this project as you can see from the quality of EB. I do agree that this kind of encouragement is the sort of thing needed to help keep this extraordinary mod going. Thanks for everything EB team! :applause:

You're welcome Kush. For Saba most of the work was done by Qwerty and VandalCarthage (quit the team a year or so ago - one of the few times "quit" is an appropriate word ), especially the unit work, with myself doing a lot of mindless copying and summarizing things from the books I could find about the Sabaeans for things like building descriptions. MeinPanzer has been giving helpful advice behind the scenes that will be used for EB2 Sabaean work - corrections with regards to military equipment and unit types I think are the main things, but we have no more unit artists for EB1 so changes won't happen for it. They currently don't really have anyone working on them really in any regard, but your kind comments are appreciated. :2thumbsup:

@TA
No other artist? None?! I thought Merklir, O'ETAIPOS, and Handsome Viking(?) were hard at work on units for EB2? I didn't realize that all art production had suddenly stopped :gah2:
I thought it was just me but now it seems all artist either slowed down or went missing. lol I guess this a subtle way of telling me to find a unit and draw it before my @$$ gets in trouble. Ok, well I think I got your hint. Maybe I'm just paranoid. Either way
but we have no more unit artists for EB1 so changes won't happen
:idea2:
We all are focused on EBII

That's nice thing to hear.
I already have M2TW, and will buy kingdom just because of EBII.
Thank you again EB team.

Excellent Work
You don't hear much about pre islamic Arabia. I find the area really interesting. Another faction on the eastern half of Arabia would make it even better.
They currently don't really have anyone working on them really in any regard, but your kind comments are appreciated. :2thumbsup:
That's a shame no one is working on it as I really like the faction and area.

yeah... I wanted to add in my own two cents, which i actually registered to say...
I've played and loved R:TW for quite a while and adored the way it can suck me into a game and not even be aware of the time... And being bored recently i decided to come back to it... and then i found EB... i first tried the Ptolemai but they seemed confusing and i didn't even finish a turn.... so i decided to stick with the romani as they would give me a point of reference... man... you know, i realise now just how big of a task taking the roman empire was, and in R:TW you really do get babied what with the 4 factions each having a specific task to do... I'll skip on all the epicness of my campaign, but i started off going ****!!! at the cost of troops, and had my butt handed to me when trying to take control of Bononia early on... not to mention the fight with the Makedons and the Epriotes, my long march into Gaul and SO many battles i can't even begin to relate the epicness of them... Really, i've been playing probably 4/6 hours daily and i'm only at 228 BC with Gaul, the rest of the Kart-Hadastim empire to capture (everything west and east of Atiqa, Kart-Hadast, and Adrumento), and, Iberia, not to mention Egypt and the Israel area...
this mod rules. No offence to the CA team: they did make quite a good game... but once you go EB you can't go back... the historical accuracy, the year in history thing, the multiple governments, and es[pecially the way Hoplites are the order of the day in Greece and naked people in Gaul, lol. and any help is available on these boards, not to mention those sexy AARs... I'ma be playing EB for as WHILE, i can tell - there's still the Kart-Hadastim, the Ptolemaioi, and the Casse to go through.. Thanks so much :D.
