I've managed to get a few weeks off so that I can finally start an imperial campaign into which i can immerse 24/7. I want to tweak it to make things more realistic, but at the same time not break the game mechanics in any way which would ruin the experience.
1. I'm planning to set the timescale to 0.5 and halve all the event dates and such ( which one would do when customizing the game to accommodate a timescale of 1.0), thus making the game twice as slow. After browsing these boards for a while it appears to me that there are those who enjoy playing on 1.0 timescale without any modding to the event files. As I'm a slower-phased and more patient kind of gamer who enjoys micro-management and peace I assume that I should be fine with these settings too (0.5 timescale with halved dates would be the same as 1.0 with vanilla dates), right?
2. I've heard that M/VH will make things the most realistic, and that with M campaign difficulty I will avoid any psycho-diplomacy, so that's what I'm planning to go with.
