Hi there. This another one of those annoying posts by a relative nebie to the forus, that everyone (quite rightly) flames until it has a thick flambèd crust, until one of the minor deities of the forum, who usually has a good thousand or so posts replies with the most perfect answer, complete with a putdown so strong it leaves Bruce Willis breathless... :weirdthread:

:focus:

Anyway, I'm trying to find some threads which I found amazingly useful when I first found them, but have since lost them.
The first contained a massive list of historical and factional formations (Cannae was in there, as was an Iberian one I think.) It had pictures in, I remember that. I would find it immensly useful, as I suck.

The second, which I think was by konny (by no means quote me on this), contained everytyhing one would need to know about romans, such as when the reforms were, what a legion is composed of unit-wise, the lot.

Any help in finding these will be rewarded by the Che Roriniho Biscuit of Excellence.

Also, completely off subject, but is it just me or is Bribing in EB a little... skewed? I tried bribing a 2 star rebel general, no army, just his bodyguard, and he gave the usual 'We don't need your gold' speech. I have over 100,000 mnai in the bank. This guy has no traits that would up the fee, so what's up?

Bribing is immensely affected by the primary trait Loyalty, of which only about 14% (of non-selfish characters) have a level of Seditious (lowest possible):

I'll send a spy in. still, it shouldn't cost more than 100k should it? He's just a lone general!

Have you considered that the lone general is above such petty concerns as wealth, preferring loyalty? Would you spy for <insert your country's enemy here> for money?

He's listed as selfish/<something>/loyal. none of the above traits. He's also Eleutheroi, so I don't see why he's not accepting.

As I apparently have to spell it out for you: Loyalty = loyal. The guy is loyal. That means that he's loyal. And that he doesn't care for your bribe, he would rather stay true to his people.

Loyalty doesn't require a playable faction. Your own lack of moral fiber doesn't mean everyone lacks it.

Oh, sorry, didn't know loyal meant unbribable. my bad! *throws larger than normal cookie*

*looks in jar* Right, there's one cookie left, and that's going to the person who can help me find that darneded thread on strategy!
