Ok i`d like to start this thread off with an apology... Sorry. That apology is for not finding the solution to my problem myself on this forum. I have tried but there is just too much stuff and I`m getting severe information overload :(

My problem is this. Yesterday I reinstalled rtw on my computer for the first time in over a year with the sole purpose of playing this beautifully crafted mod :) well done Team EB. However, my problems started as soon as i tried to install EB1.1 (My rtw was patched first to 1.3 then to 1.5 as per instructions) as the installer warned me that installing rtw into my program files would probably cause problems - oh dear, where had I installed rtw? yes you guessed lol. EB then seemed to install normally however when i tried to load it up i got some bizarre error message that I unfortunately cant even begin to remember :( sorry again. suffice to say it didnt work and no changes at all appeared to have been made to my installation of rtw.

ok, so i removed rtw completely from my system and reinstalled again to a different location. Now however I cant patch rtw on this new location the patches just seem to install themselves somewhere as it says they have installed. Then when i load up rtw and check the version number it staill says 1.0. Can anyone please help me?

P.S im running this on windows XP

Perhaps the two links in my sig concerning this will help you. Particularly the second one should work.

Thanks for the response bovi :) though i have to admit i dont quite understand, yes im quite stupid, unfortunately. Are you referring to the link for vanilla patches? I clicked and and got 4 more links for patches, selecting what i think is 1.3 then was taken to a page showing a rather tranquil waterfall :)

try installing RTW , then update it to 1.5 and THEN change the whole folder (Activision or Creative Assembly) to somewhere else, say C:\Rome for EB :book2:

Oh crap, they've taken down the files. Sorry about the confusion, I'll remove the link from my sig.

no worries mate, thanks for the swift responses. Ive removed rtw once again just to be safe but cant be bothered to reinstall again today. Maybe give it another go tomorrow.

Did you un-install only the RTW, or RTW, EB, the 2 patches?

For my (also using xp) I had to un-install everything seperately.

Uhm. This sounds ALOT like my problem. here is the error message I get:
Error: Filename doesn't exist:eb/data/animations/engine/ballista/ballista_idle.CAS
Let me know if this is your problem (or something similar to it lol), Wishazu

This sounds not at all like your problem. Please create a new help thread.
