Hey, I posted this question to the 'modding questions' of the RTW forum, but, tbh, I've ssen more life in a morturary than there, so I'm posting it here.
I've recently become the owne of a completely legal copy of 3DSMax, as milkshape was just too unwieldy.
In order to understand this beast of a program, I'm following this guide (http://rtw.heavengames.com/rtw/mods/tutorials/rtw_modeling_tutorial/index.shtml), which should give me a decent grounding in it, but I'm having a few problems.
First, I've completely lost one of my views (top left). I cannot find my sword! Is there a button that snaps the camera to the active object?
Secondly, I'm unable to move vertecies in limited axes. I'm currently trying to get a nice point to my sword, and it just ends up looking like the bastard lovechild of Anne Widdecombe and Michael Winner. This is because it keeps jutting forward/back, when I just want it to go up and sideways (ie, I only want 2 axes to move) Is there a way to prevent one axis from moving?
