Ok, hope someone can help.
I've used KnightErrant's excellent CAS to MS3D converter to work on a new Strat Model and created my own skin. In milkshape the figures looks excellent but when I load it into the game, it glows like a little light. I suspect a white normal file is being added but i cannot find any normal files for strat CAS textures. I've even darkened my skin but all that did was remove all detail and gave me a dull glow.
I've searched and read all I could on the problem but no answer.
What I've done, created a TGA file in GIMP - 1 layer, 3 channels with Alpha channel. SAved it as a DDS, compression DXT5 with mipmaps. Now i have a DDS file, how do i convert it to .TGA.DDS ??? (I'm currently renaming the file, is that correct?)
In Milkshape, I've removed smoothing but without effect. Someone mentioned removal of anti-aliasing but i couldn't find that.
Any help would be appreciated.
