This is a question for all of you who are able to run the game with high graphics detail, and/or large unit size...

What kind of graphics card do you have? Would a 64 MB GeForce 4 TI 4200 do it? Is 128 MB really necessary? Also, does the soundcard make a difference? I have 512 MB of RAM, so I assume /that/ shouldn't be a problem. I was just considering upgrading my graphics card/sound card and was curious as to what it actually takes to play MTW on higher detail. Thanks.

I was using a geforce 2 but I just put an ATI 9700 Pro in Friday night. This is sweet. Very fast and better looking. And no crashes (yet).

What are the highest settings, Im on a good spec machine but I ain't tampered with graphics or anything. I know that I had my settings for direct 3 on 30 mb of texture detail and it lagged me to buggery, but I changed it to 10 and its fast now, really fast.

Making a correct performance match with the rest of your system is just as critical. I'm sure you realize that.

I'm using a Geforce4 TI4200, 128mg on a P4.
Battle resolution 1152x864, 32bit. Unit size medium. All options enabled. The game runs fluidly as possible even in the largest battles. Yet when I move the res up to 1280x1024, there is the odd slight stutter in large battles. Now I'm going to try again as these new nvidia drivers are amazingly faster than my previous ones.

Okay, so we have some people out there who are fans of ATI. Fair enough. Can any of you ATI Fans recommend a graphics card in the $150-$175 range? One that is comparable to the GeForce 4 TI 4200. 64 MB is all that is necessary. I don't think I'm gonna bother with 128.

I use a Creative GeForce 3 Ti 200 on both my PCs, and the game plays perfectly.
My older PC is a PIII 700, and the newer one is PIII 1260. Both with Creative Live 1024 sound cards.
I've reduced the PCI thing on both graphics cards to 2mb, and everything seems just fine.

Blackfire, the 9500Pro is brand new and about $200 list. However, if you don't need DirectX 9 then the 4200 is as good a bet for $50 less.
