Ramsoms ... Possible bug???

Hi all,

has anyone else experienced this one.

I received a ransom of over 12,000 florens. In the space of 2 years this had all gone.

In the move prior to getting the ransom, I had been paying out approximately 400 florens per move on average. I had no extra expenditure or anything and all the same expenses.

My question is, where did all the florens go???

Any ideas?

Did you give the computer the 'auto build' thing? If so, then I noticed that they always spend as much money as they can on buildings and such. So if you get a large ransom or loot from raiding a province, the computer will build more expensive things. It seems that the basic idea is 'spend it while you got it'. If you don't have auto build on, then I really don't know.

thanks for replies. No auto build was not activated - that would have made sense had it been.

However, thinking about it, I did employ an ex ENRON executive to work in Flanders. Perhaps that could have been the problem!!!

If you had 4 or 5 provinces waiting to build something expensive like, say, farming +80%, and your treasury never gets above 2500 florins (or whatever is required for the build), they will just wait... and wait... and wait, while your other provinces continue to build cheap stuff each turn.

When you suddenly get a massive income boost, the next turn ALL of those improvements will start to build at once, thus completely wiping out all that luverly cash in one go. It doesnt take many improvements to get through 12,000 florins.
