Hello all m2tw multiplayer fans...

After a while of practicing on custom battles me and a friend decided to play 1vs1 on my home LAN.

The game goes ok for some minutes but after that it ALWAYS starts to become desynchronised and i get the message: WARNING: Game desynchronised...

Both computers have WinXP with Service Pack 3 installed...

I've configured the WinXP Firewall to excempt m2tw game, also opened 27750 port for TCP on the firewall.

The connections seems OK until a moment that it gets out of synch.

What is this problem? Is there a sollution to that?

Any suggestions? Couldn't find anything related to this problem anywhere in google!

Thx in advance for ur answers!

Maybe you could try to shut the firewall off all together maybe?

I have turned off completely XP firewalls and just plugged my 2 PCs on a switch.

That's it. Filesahring works, other games work but for Medieval2 patch 1.3 the games go desynchronised!

This must be a major bug. LAN and desynchronised? Could that be a 1.3 problem? Has anyone tried that too?

pls help!:wall:

OK. Thanx all for ur time.

I've studied threads as much as i could it and i did close everything.

All processes that could possibly start downloading anything during the game were closed.

I unistalled all antiviruses.

I completely turned off the Firewalls.

I interrupted the internet connection and just plugged my 2 pcs on a switch.

I tried everything but i still get the games Desynchronised.

100Mbps of bandwidth just for this game and still it is not enough for it. It gets desynchronized.

The multi[player of this game is a total CRAP.

I wont spend any more time trying to fix this buggy multiplayer i already tweaked my stable system a lot.

Its too bad for a game like that to have no multiplayer. Im gonna leave it soon. There are many more serious games out there.

And just for the note...

I didn't get much support in here as well...

OK i'll try once more but pls help. I think somethings wrong with the game's settings.

There are some network options in the .cfg file which (by default for me) currently are:

[network]

use_ip =

use_port = 27750

but i found in a thread that there also some hidden parameters regarding network:

use_ip
use_port
raise_priority
debug.simulation
debug.drop_every
debug.packet_delay_every <---?
debug.queue_delay_every <---?

Could this be the sollution? What values should i give to these parameters and what exactly do they do?

Hello zibi23

[network]

use_ip =

use_port = 27750

This entry in the preferences.cfg file.....

use_ip=
is for entering an internet network number. I used this for when I had a hamachi network set up.

use_port=27750
is the port that is open (by default) to allow the game to 'see' the pc. So you do not need to open ports.

I use windows XP SP2 and have had no problems running a LAN connection.

Are you running Zone Alarm firewall?
If so set it at ...Medium. I do NOT ever shut down my firewalls and I run two.

I did some more testing with the game,

downgraded graphics so that game speed increases. As i imagined, this didnt solve the problem I still get the Warning: game desynchronised error...

This message appears at some point after the beginning of the battle and then usually every other minute or two.

Meanwhile i noticed that the game seemed ok and that units that i moved on one PC where also moving on the other. The game flow seemed ok

Is there any console command or anything i can use to suppress these system messages?

In general, where can i find a list of console commands of the game??

thx..

Start your game from the CD then select Options then select Keyboard settings.
It will show a list of keyboard commands.
