Conquering all regions

Hi! I was just wondering that, has anybody managed to conquer all regions and destroyed all factions; exept Papacy of course. Doesn`t the game end then???
I`m playing as the portugese and my goal is to achieve this before "the world is round" effect. Then I could concentrate on America without beeing interrupted by Eurasian wars.

Nope. Never did that.

But I'm pretty knew in M2TW, as I'm only playing my, err, 6th or 7th campaign...

I played after the victory (45 provinces + Jerualem and Grenada) as the Spansih when I realised that we could actually go to America, But I didn't manage to conquer all the map befor the end. I took my time for the new conquests...

The current record for capturing every province that is in Europe is around 23 turns, IIRC.

Its very doable and quite easy, but you're gonna have a hell of a problem with capital city distance penalty after everything is conquered though

Yep, it is very easy indeed.
But doing it in 23 like AskThePizzaGuy is something beyond my power... yet.:viking:
Ah, and you can defeat the papacy, you'll get excommunicated of course, but if you rule the world, who cares?

Well, I used to play Spain in M2TW, made an alliance with the Almohads so that my home plate won't be disturbed, reached Jerusalem, Antioch, Damascus and Cairo because of a Crusade, got involved in a war with England and Denmark (they had no alliance) with which I took Caernarvon and London, and got to conquer Norway, then made an alliance with the Mongols (who were in Moscow at that time), fought the Turks and conquered Crimea--then I got stopped cold by hordes upon hordes of Timurids invading my Antioch area. That spelled the end of my dream of world conquest. No--I haven't conquered all regions in M2TW, but in my current Rome TW campaign I am very nearly going to do so (what I do--avoid attacking the target areas that the computer says I should conquer to end the game). Hawooh.

Have conquered all the regions in the Americas Campaign 3 times so far with 3 different factions. Took about 200 turns, I like to slowly and methodically destroy the enemy.
