Are you sure there was no ford? Because on the minimap it looks as if there was one.:inquisitive:

I didnt think you could could cross at a ford in m2tw. I knew about them from RTWBI but not in this game.

Have I been missing something for the last year and a half?

You can cross a ford in M2TW. My best battle at a ford was in the Americas campaign. I (the Apacheans) was attacked by the French. The entire ford was covered with French bodies.

You can cross them. You just can't tell a unit to run into the ford but have to click at the other side.

I think that everyone has the right answer.

There are SOME maps with inaccessible areas (IE mountains with no road to the top, too steep, etc) but no one is allowed to start with troops in that region.

All fords are passable, to my knowledge.

did you select your troops and click on the opposing troops, ordering them to attack, or did you click on open ground on the other side?

Clicking on the ford itself does nothing.

That's strange...:huh2:
There should be a crossing as in the campaign map anything can pass through. Where is this river crossing on the map? Or maybe, what mod you're using? :lost:

Perhaps the troops figured the water was too cold, and decided stay dry? ~

in the americas campaign i won a couple of battles at a fording spot in the river using archers and spear throwers. i directed them to cross the river and while they were midstream had them stop and they started firing. the AI did not even move the enemy they just stood there and got picked of one by one. I have yet seen a battle map on a river that you could not cross. the crossing might be near the border but it was there. interesting:dizzy2:
