I dont know anyyythhiinnggg about how this might be done but I think it would be good if the cities and settlements could be given more character...
For example: Rome was founded on 7 hills and had rich areas and very poor areas.
I think it would be good if some cities had run down slums with graphitti on the walls etc, maybe messy streets and that type of thing.
I don't think you guys would be able to do this but to me it seems obvious that the appearence and realism of the cities would be improved if some had historically accurate rivers running through them and streams.
I think it would be possible to design slums as one 'building.' Slums should have unorganised messy streets and so the slums shouldnt be organised neatly into a grid like richer parts of some of the settlements.
Would it be possible to have a forum in Rome etc?

you're right, it's not gonna happen in game. maybe for ETW, but certainly for RTW or even M2TW.

Besides, I hear that skinning buildings is a major pain the ass. Nobody in their right mind would bother volounteering to take on such a job, no matter how realistic or historically accurate it may be.
However, we can still dream about it, eh?
slightly off-topic but carpe diem, that means sieze the day right?

f*** brazoswood!!! kulu khara ya tullab!!!
sorry. twas childish, immature,and incstinctual.
that school sucked bigtime! good teachers, but terrible students and ridiculous administration. damn administration: who are they to tell us wether we can have beards or not??
anyways, back on topic: modding buildings is a pain in the rear. EB was barely able to make new things out of it, because of the bloody .exe, but also because of the modelling complexities of buildings. also, bear in mind that houses (non gov stuf) have specific shapes to them per culture. unless you canget someone to model new buildings.
EDIT: somebody already said al that..sorry again.:embarassed:

I think I'd like to have a go at doing some building modelling. I am happy to design buildings and I am sure I could to the artistic design side of it. Would I be able to design the buildings on 3DS or Milkshape etc and then send the files to someone who knows how to incorporate it into the game?
Would I be able to have templates and skins for all the buildings in the current EB? Because most of what is already in use is fantastic. I just have ideas of expanding on what is already there.
So aslong as I don't have to do anything other than make the models I am happy to give it a go.
Please can I have as much as a jargon-free response as possible? lol I'm not very computerlingual but I am sure I'd be able to design good looking buildings using those programs.

Integrating is perhaps the hardest part.
