So....I'm really bored at work and thus I ended up watching starcraft replays with commentary. I actually am interested in them since I used to be a real hardcore protoss player until I got sick of all of the disconnects and generally noobiness on battle.net for most team games.

Anyways, found this ridiculously long game, 1 hour and 25 minutes long (to give you a perspective, most pro starcraft games rarely last beyond 30 min).

I watched it and it is simply EPIC. I have literally never seen a starcraft match as great as this. It has

Stork - blue Protoss 7 o'clock start
GGPlay - orange Zerg 2 o'clock start

on Andromeda

There are some excellent English commentary for those who don;t understand Korean

The game goes on till ALL minerals are mined up and one player takes a final stand.

A quick summary (quick is probably a bit of misnomer here, more like a kinda brief, but not really brief summary) of what essentially happens for those with an actual life and don't have enough time to watch it:

Stork starts out going Corsair/Reaver. IMO, did so very well and had some major harassment as well as a HUGE corsair fleet, literally 2-3 control groups by 30-40 min.

GG simply massed hydra/lings/scourge at first which was being wasted. Basically, the reavers/disruption web killed scores of hydras/lings while Stork's uber Corsair army killed dozens, maybe even hundreds of scourges.

By then, all of the expansions have been taken and each of his bases has lots of photon cannon creating a wall with reavers/high templars guarding behind it. Combined with his utter air domination through Corsairs and some very nice overlord drop interceptions, it seems like GG can't do anything to Stork

Then, Stork switches into Carriers. GG does something very smart and went for defilers/devouers/scourges. Basically, carriers/corsairs were really bunched up naturally due to control groups and GG sent a suicide defiler in to plague literally everything. Then, his Devourers went in and acid spored the corsairs, making them useless. Finally, while the carriers were distracted, he sent a dozen or three scourges to take out all of the carriers.

Stork lost a Carrier fleet or two before he started using Dark Archons for Maelstrom followed by Psionic Storm from High Templars to kill the devourers, but through some very nice scourge/defiler micro, he keeps on losing his fleets until he's through like 4 of them and minerals basically runs out.

Now since Carriers are mineral heavy and GG is heavily anti Air, Stork mas produces High Templars to create an army of Archons supported by Arbiters. Now, all resources on the map have run out except for the 12 o'clock island. Stork has initial control, but GG does a massive drop and takes control of it. He establishes a mining operation there and puts up nidus canals which gives him a very small fighting chance.

Stork, meanwhile, mind controls defilers and a drone to create a HATCHERY (this is a pro game, I promise). Eventually, all of GG's bases are whiped out except for his small island at 12 covered by scourges, defilers, and hydras.

Stork use the last of his minerals to create his last 2 arbiter. He goes in trying to get recall, but only one manages to recall before both are destroyed by scourges/hydras. His archons would've been obliterated since not his whole army was recalled, but he had 1 or 2 defilers there which DARK SWARMED the whole island. His archons went for the buildings and boom, good game at like the 82/83 minute or something like that

Wow, that was a crazyily long summary, btw. Anyways, highly recommended to watch, but I suppose it probably won't be exciting if you don't have at least played Starcraft before. You can't really appreciate it that much unless you played kinda semi seriously before and have some knowledge of pro Starcraft gaming, which is basically just South Korea

Edit: I just did word count and those post is 633 words long. Wow, there are actually essays shorter than this
