Patch compatible with current saves?

I don't recall if this has been asked or answered.

Will the upcoming patch retrofit into our current saves? It would be REALLY NICE not to lose them.

The question is already asked and the Devs already answered, but I couldn't find the thread.

IIRC, the patch won't effect the current savegames. It can even fix some corrupted savegames.

it should restore some corrupted saved games. but some saved games may have been damaged beyond repait, so the success rate will be below 100%.
and yes, this info is in the Patch Info thread or somewheres....
