Anyway, the camel thing is because in the TW games, there's often at least one camel unit, and some players have started hailing them as saviours (hyperbole alert!). Of course, other disagree, and thus we've got the camel group and the anti camel group.
One notable camel user is Mithrandir, the mod of the Entrance Hall.

"Anti-camel" refers to those poor, misguided souls who do not follow the true path to peace and enlightenment. It is only a matter of time, however, before the apostates realize the error of their ways and repent.

It's a running joke here that started a few years back, and has since taken on a life of its own. The Camel vs. anti-camel "conflict" is something of a tradition now. ~:)

Yes the whole thing was indeed started by the now infamous "Camel - Total Realism" mod. In this mod camels would move, defecate, spit and make sweet love to each other in a very realistic manner. The latest version is 0.0089985932922 Rev A - Beta.
