I lost my hope to see EB II before I became pensioner, so at least I just wanna know a EB 1.2 version will be issued or not?
:wall:
As there are some minor things to be fixed and added: yes. Don't expect a whole new game though.

To clarify the words said above, yes. But it's only a patch with a completed voicemod.
Btw, I love the pic in your sig. Hilarious.

Why nobody ever think of unique design of cities, or adding some buildings to the battle map in upcoming versions?
Cities look kind of bland right now.. :sad:
Because it's a pain in the ass to make them. No new features are being made for EB1 anyway, except those that can be used in EB2 as well.

If you are so upset with this I would suggest you make an attempt yourself.
The modelling part is not the most difficult. however to get the building into the game with all the parameters set so that it doesn't interfere with unit path-finding on the battlemap is notoriously difficult.
As for unique designs, this unfortunately makes the said city impossible to upgrade. If Rome was made to look unique then it would look the same throughout the entire game.
And as bovi said, we are no longer actively working on EBI. EBII is our main project at the moment.

so in EBII will you use M2TW exe or kingdoms.exe? I will be happy if you say kingdoms.exe cos in kingdoms you can build permenant castles that I always dreamt a county sytem even we can conquer them!

According to numerous statement made by the EB team, they will be using the Kingdoms.exe and will aim to take full advantage of it´s new additions.

:smash:
I can sllep well tonight :beam:
I hope kingdoms.exe is as moddable as M2TW.exe. ~:confused: but I must confess that I have no idea
on modding exe files. EDU coding enough for me..
We cannot mod the .exe file of either m2tw or kingdoms and no one has on these forums. To do so would be illegal, so I don't know what you mean. However, this is not really the right forum to talk about EBII, so if you wish to find out more I suggest you head over there.

I wonder why the EB team decided to use an expansion exe for their official release when they refused to do that with rome.exe <.<
I dont have kingdoms I guess I'll have a lot of time to get some savings tough :P
Don't worry, by the time EB2 comes out it'll be in a Gold version available for 5 euro's, hehe.

What I mean by moding exe files is to adapt the exe as a game engine,
I have no idea on game engines or how to make a game engine.
I can only code doc type files with notepad++ or hex editor..

Perturabo at least would much rather see the effort put into EBII as he understands that RTW is too limited for much more to be done in improving AI and changes to city graphics are of little concern to him. He also considers MTWII is far more customisable and has far superior AI and graphics, so is looking forward to even a beta.
Perturabo also understands that some things such as voice mods can be used in both, so is looking forward to cross platform improvements being patched into EB1.
Keep up the good work guys (and gals if any).

Like foot said. Changing the .exe file would be illegal and will not be done by the EB team nor any other mod team.

A) EB 1 started before RTW was even out;
B) Serious EB 2 stuff started roughly when the Kingdoms expansion was released;
C) Initial moddability of M2TW proved somewhat... limited. Kingdoms promised to address much of these problems.
D) Kingdoms introduces a good bit of new stuff; plus comes with a somewhat more mature executable than does M2TW. (Though there are patches for M2TW...)
But of course the people who made that decision for EB1 are by now either moved on, or seasoned modding veterans (or both); and experience with RTW thaught the team some valuable lessons. However with EB1 designed with RTW in mind (including whole fake-special formations), porting it to BI is still easy enough -- but using actual BI stuff isn't. It'd skew much of the finely sculpted stat work done to balance certain units out; BI's special formations come with their own quirks & ways & bugs far as I've heard? That means there's little real incentive to move on.
