View Full Version : how does prince \"breeding\"exactly work?
I've been experimenting that to some success but still aware of many other factors unknown to me. Would appreciate greatly if someone can tell me every aspect that affect the quality of your princes. Thanks.

I simply try to marry well.
If I have an unmarried King, then I'll try to find a good princess. You need to move quickly, cause the AI will marry him off if you don't.
With my princes, I attempt to do the same. Find good princess and try to marry up with them.
I find if your diligent about it, you get good results.
But to be acceptable for marriage, you need to play a good game from the beginning; or you may find it difficult to get your King/Princes married. See the many posts.
What I find easiest to do, is to produce decent generals by marrying my princesses to units leaders (doesn't matter if they're generals or not) with good v&v.
This way you produce lots of "royals"; and I find you get better generals and unit leaders.
I use my princesses as spys, while looking for good mates amoung the faction(s) I might find it advantageous to be alligned with. If no good princes/kings available, I then look amoung my unit leaders, but wait untill my princess is near retirement then I'll marry her within my faction.
Little else, I think, can be done.

Errr... prince breeding system requires
A) an old horny king
B) Nubile young princess
Next, have them str... ummm... you get the picture.
Next, with luck, in 10 month, whola! A bouncy baby heir!
With luck, hopfully the young prince won't get into loving little boys, his mom, or his sister.
