I am on my first RTW campaign. I'm playing as the Scippi and I am playing the short campaign. Things have gone Ok and last night I conquered my 15th province according to the faction scroll. I expected bells, whistles, general celebrations..... nothing. So I played on a bit and have now taken 16 provinces - still nothing. Why hasn't the campaign finished? According to the faction screen I need to hold 15 provinces and remove/ out last the Numidians. Numidia is still about - I think they have a province in North Africa left - do I need to knock them out?? By the way, all my cities are OK. One has some rioting occasionally, but no revolt.... so what is happening? The manual isn't much help and the ingame help even less. I am desparate to unlock the other factions so a bit of sage advice would be gratefully recieved.

Yep, you need to kill Numidia.

Hold 15 provinces and Eliminate/out last the following faction. You need to do both.

Yep - you have to annex Numidia. You also have to do it before any other faction can achieve their short campaign victory conditions. When I play as the Scipii in the short campaign mode, I often struggle to do this.

On the subject of rebellions and armed revolts, these only happen if the provinces' happiness, viewable by double clicking on the settlement in questions, drops below 60%. Normally you will get a bit of rioting for one - two turns, followed by the province seceding from your empire. If the happiness is raised above 60% before it can secede though, then the province will not get to the stage where it leaves your empire as the rioting is quelled.

It's that damned Egypt isn't it?

It's that damned Egypt isn't it?Usually yes. They always seem to complete their short campaign mission before anybody else can have a chance. It also often isn't helped by my generally slow method of play.

Thanks guys - I misunderstood "outlast" - I have had a message saying Britannia is near to victory - but no furthur messages. The main problem is my main arm is up in Normandy so it looks like I have to leg it down south with a mixture of boat and march to sort out the last Numidian stronghold - that one in the edges of Sahara.

once you've done this (the short campaign i mean) without another faction doing it, can you just carry on the campaign as usual.

If it does, v1.0 and 1.1 probably won't be able to do this, while v1.2+ (or possibly v1.2) should. You can check your version number in the top left hand corner of the "Options" menu.
