I have searched the forum and seem to be alone in this problem. I have had repetive CTD while repulsing a siege attack. This happen about ten seasons ago also in a different town. I solved that problem by replaying the battle and changing tactics, wall defence to charging out etc. This time after 5 one hour battles it still crashes always at different times during battle. I dont want to auto resolve as I loose if I do, if I win on the battle map (I am 1500 Casse against 5000 Romans) I should get a heroic victory and I would win if it didnt CTD. Yes I have EB1.1 with all the patches, maximzed stability etc.
I have a Core2Duo and 4GB RAM 8800 so I dont think I am stressing the comp.
Does anyone have a idea for solution?

I see I forgot this in the frequent issues. I've typed it up there now.

In reference to the Frequent Issues I know my memory and hard drive are good so I will discard the latest drivers and load an older version, I will report back.

A couple of failed games later and using an older driver doesnt help and the three Roman generals are not heirs or faction leaders (killing both at once issue). Never mind I just start a new campaign.
Or any other possible solutions?

I don't know which graphics card you have, but this might help:

For ATI graphics cards: I'm currently using 6-10_xp-2k_dd_36790.exe as my driver, and have no problems. Downgrading to this has helped at least one other person to get EB to work.

By the way, how come you are certain about your memory and hard drive?

I have a Gigabyte GeForce 8800 GT. The machine is only two months old and I did bench testing, stress test etc and Mem test when I got it. I havent had a problem with the machine but I did C drive an error check and Mem test again after your suggestion: no problems.
How else do I check my hard drive and memory.

No, then it's okay. That is, it's not okay as you still have a problem, but the components seem to be okay.

I think you should probably just auto_win this as I don't know anything more you can check. The command is auto_win attacker or auto_win defender depending on which side you're on at the moment.

Ok I found out the procedure to auto win but I have no joy.
I press the ~ key and get the semi opaque grey band "console"
I type this in:
auto_win defender
press enter (with this gap, under score and spelling), but I get an unrecognised command error. I tried process_cq and it worked. So what is the correct text and process required for an auto win.

It seems correct to me. Please try again.
