I have so far only played the "Glorious Achievements" options in this game. It adds an extra challenge to beating the crap out of your opponent, while you still get that oppurtunity. However I am still quite puzzled about how the point/score system works.
I was playing away, going on crusades and doing rather well, conquoring all provinces required, and even had a message saying I had completed my (crusade) goal. Well, on comes 1204 and I await my points, but all I get is a poxy 8 points for homelands! Where di all my points go?
Secondly, some factions get G.A. points for building a cathedral or university etc. in a given province, or you have to have a certain amount of trade, but never have I been told "Congratulation, you now control 2/3 of the wool trade", or "Your university in Oxford is now complete, please collect yor points", not that I would know how that was done as I just stick my ships out to sea and hope for the best.

Any ideas?

Which faction were you playing? If it was the Danes and you had Denmark,Norway and Sweeden then homelands objective grands you 6pts and trade 1-4.

Its not enough to have ships all over the northen sea to fully control the trade there.
You must have more ships than other factions (eg the English) and better trading structures. The 2/3 trade controll is the result of the total income for all factions from North Sea trade in comparisson to yours.

i dont know how or when i get my points either. i did 2 crusades to antioch with the italians and didnt notice any points through or after 1204, for any of it. i wish GA had more to it. would be nice to be racking up points for a great economy, loyalty and religious zeal..or having most religious buildings etc.

as it is now its still a land grab, playing as the danes is a joke unless you just try to roll over everybody....and basically all the factions have the same base task, going to antioch, the almos and turks have to defend antioch..which is an egyption province (and i dont recall getting points when i was turks for having antioch for around 200 years)

so far i'v only seen points for homelands and conquest, anybody know how or when points are givin for other tasks?

Does anyone know if there is a listing of the Glorious Achievements required/available for each faction?

Also, do some GA's only become available after a certain time or if you've completed all the Jihads/Crusades? I say this because while playing the Turks (late) I got a new GA saying you get a prize if Rum, by a certain date, has the most buildings of all your provinces.

Of course, Constantinople with it's 'free' fortress had been the focus of my efforts to bring Janissarries into the world and was way ahead in the building department. Oh well.

I like surprises but it might make a faction more desirable if you knew what was possible. It could intrest you in a certain faction/era you hadn't considered before.

Yes, OK, but how do you know? I was playing the spanish and had to have 35 buildings or upgrades in Castille, and believe me I was in a building frenzy, but there was never a pop-up telling me that "Congratulations, you have now acchieved your goal of 35 buildings in Castille", so appart from counting them ZZZZZZZZZZZZZZ how do you know? http://www.totalwar.org/ubb/frown.gif

So far I have only discovered this the hard way, and that is to check each faction as I play and take notes. Pretty tedious, but atleast it leaves some surprizes for what it's worth http://www.totalwar.org/ubb/biggrin.gif .
