View Full Version : 243 Romani CTD
Whenever I click end turn and it gets to Pahlva turn I get a CTD.
EB 1.1 +permanent fixes.
Romani 243 BC.
Tried cancelling all building orders with no help, tried not activating the script, again with no success.
Also installed darth formations and marcus camillus formations.

^^^ that would be the save.
Have you checked for clones/bannerless armies? Are you using optional fixes?
It seem to happen when a small pahalvian army crosses a bridge and attacks a selucid army. I have no idea what are clones/bannerless armies.
and I do not have the optional fixes installed.
It could be that the general leading that army or the one that is being attacked is a clone of another general, or is lacking a banner (probably not as you can see it), or carries another army inside it.
Chances are that you can get around the problem by teleporting away one of them with move_character. See the frequent issues (under the rebellion issue) for more information on the command.
well the pahalvian unit has no general, so its not it. The selucid general is a problem... he is inside a city (during my turn before the CTD). How can I find out what is his name? (toggle_fow doesn't show people inside the settlements).
Also is he like cursed for good? and everytime he would fight he would cause a CTD? Is there no way to kill him?
But you say it crosses the bridge and attacks an army. If that army is within the city, the actual battle does not happen at this time. It is probably not the source of the crash then.
Please check the whole map for rebellious cities, especially the Pahlavan ones and whichever factions are the next 2-3 after them in turn. You can do this with toggle_fow, it will allow you to see the whole map. Look for the pitchfork symbol. If you find a rebellious city, consult the frequent issues for how to prevent it from revolting and crashing your game.
But YES, there is a way to kill the guy. You would need to change the generic script (not to be confused with the EBBS script or the trivial script) to contain a command to kill him. Are you up for that?
The selucids play before the Pahlval so when I end my turn the selucid army gets out of the city and only then the pahlvian unit attacks him.
I also cant find any rebelling cities... maybe I'm just blind :P
Try to take control over Pahlava and see if you can do otherwise. At the very least you should be able to just press END TURN and see if it works then, and you could be able to expel the Seleukid general to some remote island if not.
The command is control parthia, unless I'm mistaken about the faction internal name.
Note that the AI will control your armies and cities while you control Pahlava. You may lose a turn or three to a mindless AI, but I guess it's better than losing the campaign in entirety.
Ow my bad. The seleukid one is also a captain not a general.
At any rate control and control_settlement both do not work (command not recognised).
Could you perhaps check the save game?
I could do that, but it's a lot quicker to type stuff until I've exhausted the possibility of helping you help yourself. In fact, I'm months behind on posted savegames.
ok then what more could I try?
Hmm, just tried the control cheat myself, and it doesn't work. Perhaps they removed it in RTW 1.5? I'm pretty sure I've used it earlier, and it's listed among cheat codes on the net. It's also part of the EBBS, so I'm pretty sure it still works in scripts.
Please edit EB/data/scripts/show_me/generic_script.txt and put this line somewhere between script and end_script:
console_command control parthia
Then run RTW and load your game. Start the EB script, then press F1 and click the question mark. Control should now switch to Pahlava.
Maybe I'm doing something wrong... That doesn't work either.
Yes, you're doing something wrong then. You need to press SHOW ME HOW too after the question mark, but the advisor tells you that so I presume it's a given.
OK that worked (though you should have warned me that the romans are actually the seleucid faction and not any of the romans_x... only after trying all 3 I bothered to check it on the documentation :P
Anyhow, is there no way to make the command work from ingame(restarting everytime is ain't fun =\)
Also now I got a new neat bug :P All my provinces have the government buildings twice :S one normal and one "broken" (red, and on the repair tab). Is that ok? If I try to destroy either of them all building possibilities get blocked and I have to put the military thing again(while on the built buildings the other governmental building still exist). Do I have to rebuild my governments or can I just continue playing(or will that cause more bugs?)?
Well yes, it's a bug-inducing fix, glad to hear it worked out :beam:. Anyway, what you need to do is save and quit your current game after returning control to your own faction. Then, reload and destroy all the foreign governments (or whichever is the duplicated one if neither is foreign) and repair all your true governments. Restore your money balance to where it would have been with add_money. You should now be back on track.
