So I just caught wind of this from two different places, one citing the other.

First link. (http://it.slashdot.org/it/08/08/29/151227.shtml)

Second link. (http://www.theinquirer.net/gb/inquirer/news/2008/08/28/nvidia-55nm-parts-bad)

Looks like I'm going to reverse my general "Buy Nvidia" recommendations that I've been doing for pretty much the past 5-6 years. Seems ATI has closed the gap in the price/performance area with their 4x00 series cards as well. What bothers me the most is the rumor that Nvidia is going to bleed out the bad components with the "fixed" stock over time to get rid of it. That just screams of corporate negligence to me, even fraud of some flavor. Bleh.

I've got an ATI HD2600 for my laptop, and I'm pretty much completely thrilled with it. I've only had one slight issue with it, and, most importantly, it runs MTW like a charm. :2thumbsup: I'd heartily recommend it.

As they say on 4chan, it's over, Nvidia is finished.

ain't gonna happen, and would be a tragedy if it did.
