I just found this interesting, as I for one maintain that even if MTW would be made easier by what I would term a "better" ai, it would still be a bonus for the game. (I suppose this may be a foreign debate to some people, but in the various threads that have been created about the game's AI, there is division as to just what "better" means).
I for one, will side with that quote above. I don't need the AI factions to focus on war with me incessantly, (which seems to be the design of MTW, to increase difficulty or, as some have put it, to "push more action towards the player."
I for one would like to see AI factions that spend more time focusing on their own success. This will have room to be exploited, (less stacking of huge armies on player borders, etc.), but it will also serve to make the game much more enjoyable. Especially for those of us that get bored with conquest, and that prefer to play out some role within the MTW world.
