Hey, I was just wondering, what programs are 'Must-Haves', ie, what you think the best software is for any task? I'm ignoring prices, but so far I have:

Picture Editing: Duh, Photoshop...

3D Editing: 3DSMax

Benchmarking: 3DMark

Just out of curiosity...

Either you're rich, a professional or uhm, well, but those two are pretty much must-haves for their task I'd think.

I'll go with the Uhm. But I'm just wondering generally. LikeAudacity fo r sound editing, etc.

Well, a few from me:

Video Player: VLC it will play almost any video format you can find out there
Firewall: Zonealarm I like it alot, but there a couple of good firewalls out there
Video Capture Stuff: FRAPS because its amazing
Web Browser: Firefox or Opera I prefer Opera, but FF3 is pretty good as well (I use it for when Opera can't open the occasional obscure webpage)
