Sorry, I know the moderator just closed a thread on this...I cannot get into a game in gamespy. I either get dropped or told that my CD key is invalid. Has anyone else had trouble with GS? is the CD Key problem unrelated to the site? are there any fixes out there?

Make sure your loggon name, password, email, and MTW ssn are exactly the same. It also seems to be key sensitive.. don't for get the dashes in the ssn.

remember exactly...

Thanks for the advice. I enjoyed a minor victory 2 nights ago and played once before getting dropped. When I get dropped I have to power cycle my cable modem and reboot! I'll be connected and then I'll get a message that says "you've been disconnected from the server." The message is on a parchment from the within the game. ANNOYING!!!! Am I doing something wrong? Is there something that I am not doing? Why does GS keep kicking me? Is it GS?

Ok, sorry to keep trying to get an answer, but I keep getting disconnected from the server when I play MP. Now, I purchase my units and the game hangs in transition between the game lobby and the battlefield. The screen is black as i am told that we are waiting for others to arrive. I get disconnected from the server. I am on a P4 1.4 with a cable modem. Can anyone help, PLEASE. Is it me or gamespy? I ran a traceroute and I seem to time out at the GS server. Do I need to buy a membership or something? PLEASE HELP

vexatious,

The problems you're having with staying connected and getting a game to launch are being addressed in the patch. Most likely it's not your system that's at fault, and probably the best thing to do is wait for the patch.

Fast,

You could play WE/MI v103 until the patch comes out. The unit balance in the Sengoku MP is superior to MTW v1.0, but you don't have the enhancements like disengagement and routing away from the enemy in the combat engine. The gameplay is faster and intense (I know it's not to everyone's liking) due to faster cavalry and generally faster combat resolution. The downhill bonus is also stronger (Thanks to Kocmoc for identifying that.), and you can play on all those great custom made maps. The EA server works better than it did since it was moved to a less congested machine. MizuToda has continued working on the WE/MI Mongol MP balance, and I think he's made it available for download as v105.
