Installation problem w/ Rome Total War

So I got the Gold Edition of Rome Total War, attempted to install it using the 1st disc, and it stops roughly halfway with a data error. It is as follows:

Error: Data Error (Cyclic Redunancy Check)

File: F:\data2.cab

Component: Data

I am using Vista so that might have something to do with it. My specs are as follows:

600 Gigs Memory
4 Gigs DDR2 Ram
Nvidia 8800 512 RAM
Windows Vista OS

My copy of the game is not pirated. Any help would be appreciated. Thanks!

Requesting move to apothocary, so you can get the help you need.

To my untrained brain, it seems like the disc cant find the second data.cab. Maybe its corrupted?

However, I would try again before doing anything major, maybe try on a Windows XP machine, if you have one.
