I have read somewhere that heavier armors causes units to tire faster. In that case for example, does peasant with armor upgrade from armorer experience higher fatigue levels compare to the one without?

It did not in Shogun, I think it does not in MTW either...

I think it does... Try taking a unit with gold armour into a desert and take along the same unit without upgrades... sure enough, the upgraded version tires faster. That is at least what I have noticed...

I agree with Kraxis, i have seen a negative effect on stamina, its more noticeable in the desert.

I got several "yes" answers when I asked what works well in the desert, people said that the unit's armor rating is what is used. Since the armor upgrades enhance the armor rating, the suggestion was to not send enhanced units to the desert.

And I would second that suggestion. http://www.totalwar.org/ubb/smile.gif
Yes, my experience is also that it's the final armour value, not the base one that determines the fatigue. Of course, it depends on the value itself, but I would say that the units with 5 or lower final value work best, and that the limit of recovering fatiuge is around 5 as well.
