C++ Error

Gah, this is the first ever problem i've ever had with EB. After the frist time i restarted the game 3 times in total and it kept happening, constantly on the Pahlava turn.

A possible cause might be that i messed with the EBBS script last night, very slightly (changing the territorial requirements for the marians from 90 - 45 provinces) could this have caused it?

I also experienced this message TODAY after months with no issues running the game on XP.:furious3:

I tried a clean install of both Rome TW & EB with same result. So I deleted the automatic update which my computer had installed (also today) Update for Windows XP (KB951618), and the game appeared to run better. I cycled through 20-30 end of years without this error appearing.

This could be the cause of the problem or it could be coincidence. I'm afraid that is the limit of my techincal knowledge. Perhaps someone else has more insight on the issue ? :help:

It has nothing to do with any user-made function, unless you'd been messing with the binaries (it would seem to be related to third party DLL's, no less). Since the above post mentions that it apparently runs better when you roll back a system update; try that.

Also, you can take a look at the Windows Event log. It might say something about what is wrong.

Ok so where do i go to delete said update, i'm afraid i'm one of those people who are quite happy to use computers but have very little tech knowledge.

i got a runtime error thing too before only it was about 3D sound or soemthing, i fixed it by going into ADD/REMOVE PROGRAMS and removing the C++ Runtime Library from my system and then getting it off the internets and installing it. worked like a charm and RTW was back to normals



BTW dont save up so much money, your generals are all corrupt by now though. try to keep your coffers down to at most 30 grand. queue up some buildings to keep the money down and then refund it when you need cash.
