Apart from The Witcher Enhanced Edition, two more RPGs have caught my attention, both sound very promising, and deserve a thread of their own, one Fallout 3 (which I believe has been discussed on this forum earlier too? Anyhow.....) and the second one a title based on Greek mythology, Rise of the Argonauts.

Fallout 3 is due near the end of October, and Rise of the Argonauts will be out around mid-October.

Lots to look forward to if you're interested in RPGs!!! :2thumbsup:

Here's the Fallout 3 thread (https://forums.totalwar.org/vb/showthread.php?t=83997). Warning: It's kinda epic.

This is the first I've heard of the Argonauts — can you dial in a little 411 on the game? Who's making it, when's it due, etc?

Actually I found this thing while I was looking at Gamespot, searching for the final release date of GTA 4 for PC. I can give you the link to the page;

Here's one to the official site

It's being published by Codemasters, the guys who gave who gave us the Worms series, and being developed by Liquid Entertainment.

I've seen one it's trailers, the graphics seem pretty awesome (ofcourse), and the Greek monsters look monstrous enough.

I'd been looking for a topic caled Fallout 3, no wonder I couldn't find it............and it is epic indeed.......I lost the thread about halfway.

Well, a new expansion for Neverwinter Nights 2 is also in the works, but it isn't an epic level one. Instead, I think it just takes you from lvl 5 to 15

You know, come to think of it, a great number of the great RPGs that have been made in the past decade have been based on DnD is some part (Baldurs Gate, Planescape Torment, NWN, NWN2, Kotor, ect...) Now, given the sad state of DnD 4th edition, I don't know how receptive I will be to future games of that type that will end up using 4th. I would much prefer ADnD

Well, Dragon Age at least will have its own non-DnD fantasy world and rules system, so that's something different. I hope it's different enough to be interesting, and not just a slight tweak to avoid paying DnD royalty fees. One reason I like the Witcher is the way it has its own distinct flavor of fantasy world. It borrows heavily from the classic genres (they all do), but it had a different enough twist to be interesting.

It would also be nice to see more sci-fi themed RPG's that aren't just shooters wrapped inside a lightweight RPG framework like Mass Effect, or Bioshock. I'm not sure if the upcoming Fallout 3 qualifies. I didn't play the earlier games in the series.
