welcome, stranger, to the EB tavern! i am the bartender, as many know.
this is only being called the "eb tavern" b/c its the original name for it, and we want to keep the tradition.

unlike this glorious sub-forum we are in, this is a place where we can all get to know each other and have merry times and talk about (almost) whatever we want, ie, sports, games, weather, location, relationship problems, anything. we are all here to talk and give each other support

but this thread will be carefully watched by the mods, so i suggest you keep your language bottled up.

some of the ground rules:
1) no weapons (its a loooong story.....)
2) no politics (see tavern history section)
3) no putting down another persons religion
4) no insulting other mods/games, like EB, RTR, XGM, ect.
5) obey the BOOST at all times!
6) no rebellions.... :smash:

those are the basic rules. other than that, we are here to have fun!

***the history of the EB tavern***
in a forum far, far away, a man named Bootsiuv founded this great place on 9/6/2007, a little more than a year ago, in the EB forums. all was merry, until the the mods closed it down after 2,376 posts of great merriment and happiness.

a short while later, on 4/26/2008, the EB team re-opened the tavern. the merrymaking resumed. but all good things must come to an end. on 8/17/2008, after 2,076 posts, the mods closed the tavern down- for good, in an attempt to stop spam in that forum.
Appo,my trusted drinking buddy and friend, opened the EB Tavern social group. but becasue it just was not to out liking, we asked Lemur if we could have it here. so here we are today, in the 4th EB Tavern. may it live long, my friends!

Let us hope this works out.
Just to add, if anyone for some reason really needs to vent himself about this political or religious views, he can always temporarily use the old Social Group. But I hope this won´t be needed.

Also, I´d like to reinforce Rule 1, NO WEAPONS. Whatsoever. And no non-weapons fighting either. NO FIGHTING at all. And especially NO CLAYMORES (long story). Well, except pencils, and only my agents are allowed to use those (another long story).

There is one exception to Appo's rule, and that is the lone pilum that is embedded in the wall over there to the left of the comedy singing plastic fish, and the Neon sign with 'Beer! Girls!' written on it.
That pilum is set aside for the sole use of Appo himself, and it is what we prop up his often cormotose body against.

I was Mike Hunt, and you can change your name to anything you want from the User CP panel, as long as that name isn't in use anymore. I got tired of being hassled by mods for the name, so I changed it into a sarcastic name and hopefully I can enter the backroom someday, unless the mods don't like the sarcasm. Oh well, where is that sarsaparilla?

EDIT: I also changed it because it made me laugh to think of people getting annoyed of having to type "a completely non offensive name" out. lol

OMG, an EB tavern. I have lived to see something a man would never again dream of. This new tavern should live on into eternity and beyond. For it is only through the Tavern's history that I have found myself enlightened in many different ways beyond human comprehension. Moreover, I find myself constantly uttering nonesense, and so, as a result, it is best to accept my words with a grain of salt. Remember, just because someone sounds educated and uses many fancy words, it is often best to think of said person as you would would any other fool you may meet on your path of life.

Then why not just call it, "tavern?" Why must it promote one mod of one game? Either every single mod/hotseat/PBM/AAR/CA game/mafia game/ect... should get their own tavern. Or it should just be a tavern for everyone. Calling it the "EB tavern" shows preferential treatment for one mod.

(And for those who don't know me very well, I say this in jest. It's how I amuse myself.)

My strangest class must have been French. I basically slept through it (and I mean that quite literally) and still got the second highest grade, while my friends who did their best all the time were struggling to pass it at all. Since my friends and I were the only guys in French, and they switched because of this, I was left alone with a lot of free sleeping time, and a full class of females for myself. Okay, don´t do that. ´Cause I still won´t have a moment of silence for anyone. Dead people are dead, no point in honoring them anymore. If you really care so fricking much about them you should´ve have honored them while they were still alive and could apprecaite it. Therefore I propse we hold a moment of silence for all living human beings on this blue earth.
Seriously, mankinds annoying tendency to overly fret about dead people is, well, annoying. I mean, geez, they´re dead aren´t they? Who cares if you dump their bodies in a ditch our bury them in a 24 carat gold casket on national TV, they´re still gonna be just as dead.
If all the money spent on funerals would instead go to something like fighting AIDS the world would be a much happier place. That´s why I have demanded that when I die I will simply be desposed of in the cheapest way available.

Anyways, next month I will further improve my public image by grasping a great achievemant in a very heroic manner. I will get a haircut. A good one, too! My hair is of medium length, but I will get the sides and back cut short, and leave the hair longer on top. If succesful, I will get many slaps-on-the-back from the guys, as well as get laid many times over by the girls.

o man, so today in chemistry (which i HATE!!!!) my teacher (who cant teach) gave us some practice problems in unit conversions. so a classmate asked if we had to write the questions down, and she said yes. but then i said absentmindedly,- "i dont want to."
the entire class erupted in laughter, and my teacher made it funnier by saying "was that a tourettes outbreak of something?!" (i dont actually have it though)

i couldnt stop laughing.....

You can´t spam in a spam-thread. Since the thread is designed to be spammed in, spamming in it will only be on-topic. Therefore completely random nonsense posts about nothing at all are actually on-topic. The only way to spam in a spam-thread would be to stay on topic, but since the topic is spamming, that´s very hard, since you´d have to spam without spamming, since if you were to spam you´d be on-topic, and therefore no longer spamming.
Some have argued that making up a topic (say, discussing toast) and only discussing that could be counted as spam, as in a way you wouldn´t be spamming then, and therefore it´s spam, but since toast isn´t what the thread is actually about and since most moderators will agree that making up a topic and discussing that in a thread designed for another topic is spam, it´s actually not spa at all, and only desperate spammers will claim so, but they are wrong, neither spam nor non-spam is spam in a spam thread, since its about spam in the first place.'

I'm willing to tolerate some spam, but if you're going to blatantly spammercise all night long, and set goals of how many pages of spam you can achieve, I'm going to lock this sucker and throw away the key.

Members of the EB Tavern made semi-cogent arguments about how you needed a public place to host your tavern. Here you are, this is that place. If it turns out that all you wanted was a place to spam, you can go right back to your Social Group and we'll call it a day.

Besides which, I hate to hear children chattering when I'm trying to enjoy a stout beer.

There comes a point where even I am too tired to argue with moderators. Seriously, 3 months of PMing with Foot, then backroom mods, then Lemur makes me need to just relax and recharge for a bit before I take up the title of the "Tavern's Personal Lawyer" again. Try to keep the Tavern alive for one more week guys, or I will be content to let it die and just whine about it in my sig. What was the actual topic before the purposefully spam posts?

Anyways, can Body Wash be used as shampoo? I've got some stuff that's labelled as "Hair and Body Wash," and I'm not quite sure about what it exactly means by "hair." Body hair? (head) Hair? I don't know! It positively smells great, though. I'm thinking of testing it out before I go to sleep tonight, and I'll find out how my hair is in the morning. It would be awesome if the smell clung to my hair, too. Imagine that, eh? I mean, my shampoo is good and all, but it doesn't smell as great as cologne. Come what may, I'll test it.
