Enough about which faction is better or which one is the worst to use. How about talking about which one is the faction you LUV to eliminate.
I would Definitely Say I like taking out HRE and Timurids... at least they provide some challenge in the game.

The HRE? Usually, when I come across them, them seem to be on the verge of extinction. I think the most difficult time that I eliminated them was when I was in the Teutonic Campaign as Russia.

Ok, let's see...
First of all, any arabic faction is nice. In my work I have been forced to go to arabic countries, and I really have not appreciated the experience or the culture.
On a sidenote: My ex-gf was english and it ended badly... So having my vikings plunder and burn english cities often gives me that extra thrill:beam:
But that is just me, and very personal reasons...
EDIT: I must rush to say people should not read to much into what I wrote. Yes I like stompeding all across arab nations ingame, but that has nothing to do with real world politics. Same as I would not bomb England cause my ex lives there;)

I personally like killing the French. Probably because they made the early part of my English campaign annoying with their constant backstabs and betrayals. Along that same line, finishing off Milan made me giggle internally with glee. I don't giggle out loud, bad form.

Only because it took so long for them to arrive, and for you to wipe them all out. Otherwise you're saddened they didn't put up more of a fight.
Destroying Milan is always fun, as is killing the Pope.
Besides that, I always love killing the Turks.

It has to be the Byzantines. They're in the way of all my crusades and my jihads, and they've got that fat, juicy capital just sitting there waiting for me to sack it.
The Pope gets second place, although I killed him a lot more in MTW than I have in II just because you can very easily buy him off now, if you're so inclined.

The Turks in BC - mainly because of the issues we had with them in the hotseat (oh yes Mr ATPG, it feels like I'm killing you every time I kill them in my SP games).
I always love to kill Venice. It takes so long to get all of their far-flung provinces that it feels extra special when they finally cease to exist.
As a Brit I am genetically preprogrammed to seek out and destroy the HRE and France at the first opportunity whoever I am playing as. I tend to steer towards HRE first, since the French have all those annoying castles and tend to be friendly with the Pope, whereas the HRE seem to be excommunicated almost by default, and taking their lands gives you an excellent central position to strike outwards wherever you want.
But conversely, whenever I am playing as a faction other than England, I seem magnetically drawn to lay waste to the British Isles. My nationality is somewhat confused.
I would also agree about taking out Venice, since doing so gives you all those nice islands and I do like to have an empire with little outposts all over the map.
As for factions I tend to leave till last, Poland and Hungary are up there. Polish/Hungarian Nobles + militia rubbish = boring, frustrating battles, and their lands aren't even worth it once you're done. Finishing off the Mongols is also a very annoying, incessant cycle of "Take their last city" -> "Mongols become horde, get a bunch of free troops from nowhere, and zoom off out of reach of your armies" -> "Spend 20 turns chasing the hordelet aimlessly around the map until they finally get around to taking another of your cities" -> "Take their last city". Repeat until bored.

Milan is always fun to wipe out; their overpowered crossbowmen are a serious annoyance.
Finally taking out the Timurids is also gratifying---there are so many of them, and they're so persistent and obnoxious.

Has to be milan. charged a full stack of heavy cav on a militia xbow stack. Lost a lot of knights en route, but the impact was just too satisfying and worth the loss.
The Moors
During the first campaign ever as spain, they were so annoying with their imams and missile cavalry that I hated them immediately. Now I kill them ASAP. Even during my campaigns with russia and the Turks, I start with killing a couple of moors, oh no i meant all of them :smash:
I don't like killing the English, just because they have sherwood archers. Sherwood archers look like Robin Hood which was my hero when i was a child.

Milan to me is more like a chore than a pleasure. They pick the fight, not I.
My favorite faction to destroy... Actually I just like to beat them all up and leave them pathetic helpless countries, more so than destroy them. What's the point of having a general who "Hates the English" if there are no English people to hate.
Besides, who am I to say my faction is so much better than another that these other people must completely cease to exist. Better to leave them around to realize that on their own.

Actually, I've really come to enjoy wiping out the Scots. Mainly due to the fact that there's just something about a man in a kilt being tossed into the air by a cavalry charge.

This is just sad,Why does everyone like killing the byzantines? Personally they are my favourite faction to play. I'd have to vote for the milanese/venice being my favourite faction to kill,as they don't ever seem to stop making war on me,followed closely by the mongold and the pope.

Perhaps because they represent the last guard of the Roman empire, crushing that is a very big claim to fame for your budding empire/kingdom in terms of "oh yeah, what now." factors. :laugh4: Not to mention they sit astride the land (and trade) routes for crusades.
Even considering all that however you can't deny the lure of Constantinople. If you can get passed the satellite provinces of the Byzantines they normally don't keep a huge stack guarding the city, so sacking it is a great option for the empire on the go who needs money. Just be prepared for the counter attack. :sweatdrop:

in the americas campaign the Myans. They use heavy infantry 99% of the time and are aggresive, it is a real cahllenge to take on 2 full stacks of heavy infantry and have a favorable outcome.

It depends upon what faction I'm playing. As the English, I do my level best to weaken the French. They always backstab me at the stupidest possible moment (Once when we were full allies, I had military access and I had a crusader army complete with trebuchets marching past Paris). I'd say the Scottish, but they never last long enough to give me grief.
As the Byzantines, the Venetians are nasty vermin.
As the Venetians, the Byzantines are traitors and scoundrels.
Likewise for the Moors and the Spanish.
The only country I've managed to maintain even a slight modicum of tolerance for other countries is Denmark and even there the HRE is pretty suspect.
Actually, the HRE is almost always shifty as all get out. Something about being in the middle, I reckon.

as much as i hate milan- why do i ever ally with them?- i love fighting the Selva brothers of Venice. there's always at least 2 of them and i fought a protracted campaign against them as Hungary over 5 or 6 battles to kill just 2 of them they always seemed to escape. watching alessandro die in a hail of arrows in zagreb town square was satisfying in the extreme. since then hunting this family has become a sort of therapy.

The Turks, The cheek to invade our lands. Anyway, their mindless murder of the innocent annoyes me. So i usually wipe them out first.
Egypt, just because they are so close to the Turks, and are an easy kill.

My vote also goes to Milan. I find them unrealisticly (is that a word?) agressive. They attack you whoever you are, and also when they have no good reason to do so. I find it rather silly. It's best to destroy them as soon as possible.

Personally I always love to kill the French, mostly because they never come back in M2TW. I still hold a grudge against them from MTW, when they'd spam me up with their annoying re-emergences. Especially when they'd have hordes of knights.
Uber hard battle -> End turn -> 'The French have re-emerged!'
My second favourite faction to kill would be Milan, just because they backstab me so much during my diplomacy efforts. Allying with them is like a way to invite them to attack.

There are a lot of us that hate Italian factions. I largely hate Venice as I've opposed them in nearly every campaign I've fought. Fortunately, my hatred of Italian factions doesn't really extend to people of Italian ancestry in my school. There are names like Polichichio, Berardi, Polito, Morbito, Duca. Also, most of them tend to come from other parts of Italy other than Venice.

My top 5:
The Papal states: After obeying for a bit, i cant help but laugh when my well trained assasin totally mashes the pope :laugh4:
Venice: not the milanese as in the english campaign they become quite helpful by totaly ahnialating southern france but venice. these guys always deny my crusades because they are so close to the holy land. Also, as Sicily and the byzantines, these guys are the only reason why your not the naval superpower of the mediterranean.
The Mongols: self explanatory if your the turks "gulp".
The byzantines: these guys were actually smart in my turkish campaign! But totally annoying too. they basically migrated to russia when i took Nicea and constantinople off them. :wall: I basically ended up declaring several wars with catholic factions just to get to them and ended up having to travel all the way to Novgorod to wipe these guys clean off the campaign map. you can imagine which choice i made after i won that battle with about 200 men left. :whip: :whip: :whip:. Also the several other reasons you pointed out...
I think this has only been mentioned once but portugal are just a faction made to annoy you: they blockade ports with their powerful navy, they nick teritories right under your nose and they seem to be the popes favorite every single time so when you do attack them : excommunication. I enjoyed massacaring their general unit as the spanish...

Christian Nations: Usually as a Christian nation despite Italian traitors I always try to keep them alive(atleast Sicily)
Still my favorites are the Pope, Spanish and usually the british to help the scots :P
As the Muslims I would have to say the Byzantines and the Turks for removing these two are necessary for your survival <_< and its fun to slowly eliminate the Turks >: P and trap there solo generals in the mounts passages XD!
Although it really depends on my neighbors I tend to truly relish ending the Milanese, Byzantines, English, and Egyptians (which are actually pretty fun to fight :2thumbsup:).
Playing as the Russians however, I simply find that everything is fun to kill - I am still lost as to why this is so.
I like personally like killing the byzantines as many others here, as they always tend to expand into the turkish territories when I try to wipe them off the map, ending me all the way up in the middle-east which I know I can't hold because of the Mongol and Timurid waves.

The Spanish can be quite a challenge if they succeed in kicking out the Moors and Portugese from Iberia, they have terrific wealth and wealth brings armies.

Complaints aside, milan is my fav faction to kill. that's why i try to play venice as much as possible...revenge is too sweet :2thumbsup:

For me, Poland.
I love playing with Horse Archer's kingdoms, and no matter who I choose, the Polish are always bothering me! Russia, Turkey, Hungary, Egypt, Byzantium... it matters not, the Pole and their Cardinals want me!
So, I kill them. Hey, they can't have me, so I don't want them to live in depression ;).
I've been playing M2TW for only a short while, and even I can comfortably say that the Milanese are very annoying. They just stick their noses where they don't belong! In my first campaign i was rampaging trough France as England, naturally there was the gangbang effect due to my 0 Papal standing. But still, the Milanese trudged trough half of Europe just to have a stab at my weakened Longbows/Spears stack. Heroic Victory but damn do i hate these Milanese Crossbowmen. Good thing my general had 7-8 stars by that time.
Right now i've restarted and I'm a goody two-shoes and allied with everyone who is Catholic. Which means, I can't wait for the Pope to excommunicate them so i can Crusade on Milan with the utmost swiftness.

I never kill a faction if i don't have to....
I always kill Hungarians as i play the Poles, cos they have crucial lands.
But i like leaving dozens of small countries that can't threat me then allowing one or two enemies to grow to big.
If i had to wote i would say Venice or Milan. They are one big cheating #!$@%. Having couple full stacks with 3 provinces. :/

I have decided to play as the Turks next so that I can have empathy for them.

The name you're looking for papper is "Scottish." My favorite faction to destroy is the Egyptians. They're so hilarious! Even when I'm besieging their last city they send emissaries offering peace and every territory I conquered from them.

1. The Papacy... Theres nothing like sacking Rome. (It's best if you are catholic faction too.)
2. Byzantines... Costantinopole is just as Rome and rest of greek go along with it.
3. All italian states/kindoms... They have only defencive armies, they just chalenge my attacking armies with their existance.
4. Egypt... I dont care about jerusalem or antioch, the real price is in egypt. (Burn jerusalem and go here.)
5. Moors... Cordoba and Morocco. Good reason to keep your capital in rome.
6. France... To see paris and die.

I really am surprised to see how many love to destroy Milan. They don't like green or what? They don't usually expand much and they are almost always reliable - you can count on them to backstab you or someone and get excommunicated and that should please you because then you can call a crusade against them and get money and glory and experience and the Pope's blessing. Why don't more people want to destroy the Timurids - the are nasty tough and ugly in the game and I don't think anyone liked them when they were around. The Aztecs are fun to destroy but not much of a challenge if you don't go blind trying to see them hiding in the jungles.

It really depends on who I am playing as though.
When I play Spain, its extremely satisfying to obliterate both Portugal and the Moors, the Portuguese because "those damn upstarts" shouldve maintained under Spanish Rule. The Moors because...well yea.
When I play an Italian faction, ALL OTHER ITALIAN FACTIONS. I absolutely hate fighting long range missile units, and having a unified Italy is just awesome anyway!
English or French, the other one! Anyone in Europe (especially Poland), the HRE! Screw those damn Germans! They are really annoying with their mining allowing them to field armies and armies of troops even though they have mostly castles instead of cities.
Poland as Russia. Freaking Polish start out as a thorn in my side because they are always pushing East, and in the early game their units are heaps better than mine! Boyar Sons are like weak Polish Nobles.
Honestly the only non-Christian faction in the game I've played is the Moors. I like the extra complexity of dealing with the pope and rival Catholic Factions. Even as Orthodox Christians you still have to kind of play nice.
