Im at war with the egytains and found that if a general had six stars that "NS" and "MI"
have a valour # of 5. And if there is a 0 star general, their valour is 2.
Isn't that cheating on the AI side
Why would that be cheating???
Every two stars, also referred to as Ranks, adds one Valour.
If it is those two Valours you are complaining about then I hate to bring you down, but you get them too... Certain workshops adds 2 Valours while Guilds don't add any. So obviouslt the spears you have seen have been produced from a Spearmakers Workshop.

..So you mean that if you create a basic (e.g. spearmen) unit from an advanced facility, they are automatically created with 2 valour?

More advanced buildings create more advanced units, like on Shogun the higher dojos gave created units higher honour.
There are some bugs around that stop some buildings having bonuses (when they should have bonuses), but that will be fixed in the patch I assume. I think a Master Spearmaker doesnt increase spear units valour for instance, when a Speakmakers workshop *will*.

Does anyone have a list as to what buildings give these bonuses?
Do they effect all units produced from that province or just ones requiring that branch of the tech tree?
Do the bonus apply to all (e.g.,) spearmaker units, or just ones from lower down the tree? - E.g., what valour would the following units be if produced in a province with a spearmakers guild:
- Spearmen
- Feudal Sergeants
- Chivalric Sergeants
...That's why I love this game. Just when I think I am starting to understand it another subtlety reveals itself...

The bonuses arent working properly i think at the moment? correct me if im wrong, Maybe will be fixed in the patch, Maybe they should have left it like it was in shoggy with the honor bonus showing when you build the unit

Maelstrom, right now in SP there is only one reason to buy Chivalric Sergeants, and that is their Armour. Stay at Workshop level for your Feudals and they get Valour 2, but go to Guild and they drop back to Valour 0...
The progression should really have been Spearmaker V0, Workshop V1, Guild V2 and Master V3. But it isn't, though the patch will correct this.
