Sometimes this silly litle game drives me crazy. ok i'm playing as england mid thirteen hundreds i have about 7 alliances and i'm at war with no one. i've got a good little empire going and have stepped on no ones toes to get it. THEN a year after relieving the spanish troops from their seige in navarre by the newly spawned almohad and receiving a heart felt thank you from the spanish king they attack me???? THEN the next year my sneaky little sicilian allies attack and destroy 4 of my ships in the med. of coarse i'm outraged and attack every sicilian ship i possible can in the next turn and what happens but i get a warning from the pope to stop all hostilities against the sicilians. ok so i stop attacking their ships in our shared sea zones, 2 yrs later i get excommunicated??? i can't even be in the same sea zones to maintain my trade routes, i cry foul. to top it all off 3 factions cancel their alliances with me after the sicilians attacked and 2 of them where currently at war with the silicians. it really is a great game but sometimes you just have to scratch your head.
