Hi all,
My question might sound silly but: What's EB script, what's the purpose, how do I activate EB script??
Thanks to anyone who can give me a tip.
Hi, welcome to the Forums, and EB.
The EB script in basic terms has the main changes that EB have made to the R:TW engine; think of it like the 'script' of a play, where the actors know what to say and what to do.
You need to activate the script every time you start the game, and sometimes again after a battle, or certain things wont happen as EB have designed them.
To activate the script when you first load up a game, click on any city belonging to your faction. The advisor will pop up in the top left, saying to activate the script. Follow the advisor's instructions, by clicking on the 'show me how' button on the advisors small panel. This will activate the script, but you shouldnt notice any changes so dont worry if nothing happens when you click on it, the script will be activated.
Remember to do it everytime the advisor pops up.
Hope this helped

if you press end turn before the script activates you will experience CTD's and you wont get 4 turns per year.
You certainly don't experience CTDs from not activating the script. Where did you hear that?

I was going to say...CTD's arnt caused by no script

I haven't heard of or experienced CTDs because of unactivated script, but two things I have been getting as a result of unactivated script were 1: jumping from whatever year I was playing in all the way to 14 AD and 2: a really, really messed up strat map because of alternating patches of snow/winter ground and normal ground during non-winter seasons. Just about every time I forgot about the EB script, these two things happened to me. Sometimes, reloading the previous save did not help, so I had to load an even older savegame.
The snow covered strat map occurs whenever the script deactivates after a battle fought during the end of turn sequence, so that the year/season changes due to end of turn (vanilla style). When the scripts reactivated, it often turns out its not winter yet but still summer, so soem of the trees and lower mountain slopes lose their snow coveredness, while other parts dont. It just looks a bt weird for a moment but it doesnt effect the gameplay or speed as far i have come across it, which happens relativily often

That may be so, but what about the jump to 14 AD?
It is so.
Picking up from other people who have had this occurance i dont think it actually changed anything and that the year usually changed back to the normal one the turn or two after. Does it actually affect the gameplay?

I do. it doesnt happen immediately, but it will happen say, 2-4 years down the road. im 95% thats what causes it. coincidences are extremely rare.
