View Full Version : Whats the deal with custom battles?

I know I asked this before, probably a year or more ago, but the answer wasn't really satisfactory. What gives with custom battles? Every faction has an entire smorgasbord of units from all over the world, from Celts to Indians to choose from in Custom Battles, but many only have a handful of their 'actual' troops, making custom battles rather annoying on one hand, and frustrating on the other if I want to play around with different units, see what they look like, how they do, etc.

Is the EB team looking at a way to fix this? Is there a mod that already fixes this? Is there a way that I could easily fix it?

Use the trivial script to switch between campaign and custom battles.

Knew I should have downloaded that... :( I suppose that means I need to download EB again, but hopefully it'll be alright if I just install over the original install right, no problems?

Also, how do I 'use' the trivial script? Is it an icon I can click and it gives me a menu's worth of options?

I think the installer is put in <RTW>/extras, or possibly <RTW>/EB/extras. Install it and use the shortcuts that it creates.

Ah, I had to change the setting from 'Single Player' to 'Multiplayer'...I was looking for some other option like 'Turn on accurate custom battles'.

Thanks for your help.
