where are my caravels??

ok, so i downloaded the patch, and started a new game as the english, i build dockyards in all my provinces and what happens...NO CARAVELS!!! did the patch take my caravels?!?!? http://www.totalwar.org/ubb/mad.gif

there have been many listed problems with saved games and production. (first it started with crossbows, but I've heard of the inability to build some buildings now as well).

However, for new games, you're the first person I've heard of to have a problem.

to my knowledge, and from the patch's description, caravels weren't removed/modified. Perhaps just start a new game? doesn't sound fun but I don't know what else to tell ya.

Caravels are changed so that they no longer appear during the Early period, same goes for Firegalleys.

Found this while trying to restore my personal MODing to the new units file.

Or you could just edit the unit file yourself... make it the way you want it!

This may seem strange but I expect the game developer to take care of game balancing issues.
And is this a fact? or is this just a guess? I haven't heard this, nor was it listed anywhere with the patch info, (at least not that I've seen)
