Just a small point. I don't know wether it has been discussed or corrected with the long awaited patch but the dead appear to be half buried in the landscape.
Comments appreciated!

It's obviously that incessant rain that must drown every battle in mud.....

I agree actually, you look at a guy being killed and he falls, and puts blood out, then the very lower bit seems to dissappear. Being a bloodthirsty kind of guy i want to see some real carnage on my battlefield and this does annoy me a bit. I wonder if they did it to stop some guys levitating after they die?
Maybe its all just my imagination though.
I guess it has something to do with the incline of the landscape. The bodies are completely horizontal, so obviously they will bury themselves.
This was also common in STW.

BTW, Danish Crusades are true to history.

Thank you I new I would get a plausible answer. However I loved the incessant rain theory.

You could also put forth the point that the grass is tall, but that would also require the sprites to be partially sunk at all times. Perhaps some modder could find a way to angle the dead sprites to the slope of the land.

Hey what about a little mod patch with the blood flowing down the slope! or even one with the blood dripping off the bridges into the river......................GREAT!....AWESOME!

Yes, we need a "blood and gore" mod badly.

Blood, guts, gore, gibs...
I miss those games.
If only this game were set in the Legacy of Kain universe...

Perhaps a "MTW Extreme" mod could be made. I remember in Unreal Tournament a mod and level called Excessive Overkill, where the gore (damage and gib count) was basically tripled or quadrupled. An MTW facelift with gory, extravagant death animations and tortured sounds to go with them would be interesting gaming.
Such as:
Cavalryman's horse shot with an arrow. The horse throws him 10 feet in the air, flipping, twisting and yelling.
Javelin or Ballista impales peasant, peasant rolls on the ground trying to remove the spear from his midsection.
Splattering noise is heard when a stone or cannonball directly hits a unit.
Head flies 5 feet into the air when violently severed in close-quarters battle.
Naptha throwers' grenades ignite the units, making them run away on fire for a few seconds before they die.

I appear to have opened a can of worms here!..........Hey that's an idea what about worms and carrion feeding on the bodies. I now invisage Skeletons of the fallen dead when you play on the same battle map a year or two later........possibilities are endless!!
