Hi, I'm a big fan of EB, and I've been a lurker in the guild for a long time, and I've finally decided to create an account, because I need some help, and I think that you may be able to assist me.
I would like a brief history of Syracuse, specifically in reference to Archimedes (and preferably for a relatively low level of historical knowledge, I'm interesting in history, but no expert).
I need this for my Maths A-level, where I have to do a presentation on something, and, considering my interest in history, I decided to try to do Archimedes, and I figured that EB would be a great place to start looking for some information
Thanks for any help

Just don't say anything about the death ray.

Learn the basics from wikipedia. Archimedes isn't actually a controversial subject, so wiki should provide a fairly accurate summary. After that you can try dwelling deeper, if you need to. This (http://www.livius.org/su-sz/syracuse/syracuse_history01.html) should be reliable.
