View Full Version : Strange things abound in Merry Olde England
Has anyone experienced a bug with emissaries or princesses? In one recent game, my princess proposed marriage to the Italian doge. At the end of the turn, instead of the Italian doge replying, the Polish King turned down her request! I found the daughter marker in Poland instead of Italy.
Thinking that this might be symptoms of a greater problem, I re-installed the game. Some time later, the exact same thing happened! Again with Italy and Poland. Maybe these two dudes are into swapping princesses?
Very odd indeed. Sounds like a bug.
Try again to confirm it.
Never experienced that myself.

I've witnessed something that may be related.
I put two Gollowglass units in for retraining in Ireland (to upgrade their armour). Next turn they had both been 'moved' to the Aquitaine training queue, even though Aquitaine can't produce Gallowglasses !
They were trained just fine...
I suspect that there is an occasional 'unit migration' bug.
Same thing happened to me and Poland turned me down as well. I was trying to marry her off to the HRE...hmm.
Another problem I've been having is with emissaries trying to coral a foreign princess and then going back to spying mode the next turn as though they give up.
Considering their appearence...
This is a real longshot but did you happen to notice of there was a polish emmissary visiting the Italian Doge when your Princess presented herself.
I have certainly learnt from bitter experience to be very careful when dropping any strategic agent into a cluttered province space to make sure that you hit the right target.
In the past I have accidently assassinated my own general and killed an enemy princess by lack of attention.
If by accident you dropped your princess on a visiting Polish emissary she would indeed have gone wandering off to Poland.
Just a thought!

You might have a point Didz, but the Polish king is mostly more than one turn away in traveltime, since Poland is an inland province.

Kraxis, i thought that if you dropped a princess on an emissary from another faction the next turn the princess would be transported to that province even if it is half the map away and inland, thats how i remember it working.
i've lost track of all my generals, emissaries, princesses and whatnot i've had randomly assassinated because i wasn't watching what i was doing. i've even set two assassins on each other http://www.totalwar.org/ubb/frown.gif(

Hmmm.......I have not seen that bug before, though I always loose track of my princesess. Though I may have had some strange marriage responses before......I'll have to look into it.
