ok listen up

i was just on dd boards and piper an activision producer just posted the following.

"Contrary to popular belief, the Patch is not the correct one, but rather an erroneous posting by GameSpy. Code-wise it's identical to the final patch, but there's some inclusions to be made in the documentation that that aren't in there. It has since been removed and I anticipate that the final patch, docs included, will be posted tomorrow morning GMT."

Surely, this is a joke !
These guys have a *great* sense of humour "the code is good, but the documentation is wrong", who comes up with a thing like that !

What? I have looked at the .com site, activision site, and the gamespy site and I see no mention of the patch being the wrong one. This is tarnishing my view of gamespy and activision.

correction: The patch was removed from the gamespy site. hmmmm.......... this is very aggrivating.

There's going to be an official posting at totalwar.com about it sometime soon, but basically, the version of the patch which everyone's downloaded is working but wasn't the official release. GameSpy took it off FilePlanet the moment they realised this, but by now it's been mirrored all over the world.

A question for you GilJaysmith... will this current "unofficial" patch be compatible with the actual "official" one due for release soon?

As far as we know the "official" patch release will be the "unofficial" patch but with the right documentation to accompany it. So, yes.
