So who here plays magic the gathering?

I've been playing since 6th grade(I'm in my 13th year of school)

And what type of decks do you play under?

I use to play back in the mid-90s until my friends and I got disgusted with Wizards of the Coast constantly bombarding us with new expansion decks - Fallen Empires, Ice Age, Mirage, etc. It was getting rather expensive trying to keep up so we all pretty much simulatneously quit. I just sold all my cards earlier this year for $100...and I had tons of cards.

Having said that, it was a very fun game. Constructing a deck was almost as much fun as playing the game.

I played it a little when I was living in Sioux Falls, SD (mostly at the encouragement of my friends), but I was never really able to get into it. I find it interesting to watch, but not to play.

Well, I played a while ago. I remember having a cookie cutter elf deck, a really really nasty sliver deck, and a wizard deck who goal was basically piss off everyone I played against.

Actually, my handle, TevashSzat, comes from MTG, but its spelling is kinda a bit off. Anyone know who it is referring to?

A legendary maybe?

I dunno, but anyways Tevesh Szat, the Doom of Fools, was a planeswalker who had a dragon/serpent form. He was evil and tried to kill the other planeswalkers taking part in the Nine Titans attacking Phyrexia until he was killed by Urza

Wow I just thought I was a freak of nature to be the only one who read them I agree, I especially like the short stories ones. The ones that introduce certain legendary's or extreme rares. Like the one about the paradise bird(I think thats what its called).

I have a pretty competitive Threshold deck from the days I played (Like...5 years ago?). I returned shortly this summer, at my summer work, since we didn't have anything to do, I brought my deck, and my alternate very crappy deck, and I left my friends hooked. They proceeded to buy tons of cards. Curiously, they never managed to beat my main deck. (Only one friend of my friend managed to beat me once, on an ocasion he passed there. He beat me because my deck was failing in giving me some Islands that I needed. He beat me in like 3 attacks. He had like 10 mana and I had 2. >_>
On the second attempt, I beat him on turn 6 and he wanted to play with a proxy deck. :S Other than that, it was pretty uneventful since I won every 1on1 game. Multiplayer games, however, were hard since my Threshold deck is very aggro and relies on killing the opponent quickly. When I have more than one opponent, however, things turn difficult.

yeah, I've played a few tough threshold decks, my main way of winning was taking all other creatures outa play. I had a few artifacts that had tap give target permanent pro black until end of turn and then I'd pestilence every one. usually i killed everyone at the same time.
