Q1 : How to get a certain type of "crusade only" troops ? For instance, how to ensure that I get lots of light cavalry in my desert-crusade ?

Q2 : When will the patch be out ?

Q3 : How does the auto-resolve-battle defines quality ? Is it morale ? Defense ? Armour ? Upgrades ? The general ? All of them ? Other things ?

Q4 : When will the patch be out ?

Q5 : Does auto-resolve battle take the type of troops into account and matches that with the type of troops from the enemy, or does it just compares quality and quantity ?

Q6 : When will the patch be out ?

Q7 : What bonus do you get when you let your troops fight in their preferred number of rows ?

Q8 : When will the patch be out ?

1. crusades usually begin with the same troop quantity upon creation; you can't really pick one type to have more of. That said, try creating crusades in provinces with a very high zeal; you'll get more men when you start off.
2, 4, 6, 8. dunno.

Before anyone yells at me about talking about patch release date without knowing, I'm just joking. Historically the answer to the patch question has always been two weeks. Those two weeks never seem to pass and it ends up being about two months. http://www.totalwar.org/ubb/rolleyes.gif

What happens if you have so many princes (with Royal Knights) that you can not support them finantially with the current income?

The funny thing is, that "2-week patch" seems to be the trend. Like even with everquest, morrowind and ut and so on... they all say "patch will be out in 2 weeks". It might be an industry-wide disease =)

Spears gain their rankbonus... That is well worth it. I usually have them in four and a half ranks to get the full benefit of the bonus and keep it if the unit takes some losses.

Archers are different, in three ranks in Close the third rank fires with a penalty to accuracy, but recent tests shows this to be very minor (actually negliable).

Q7 someone went very in depth about ranks and bonuses, for several troop types, check the archives or some of the bigger threads to see if you can find it.
Q9 i actually never get perversion vices for my english princes, for several different games. maybe you've had the bad luck of bad heirs the last few times.
Q10 this is the trick with the Danish (seveal heirs, not enough land for cash). you need to invade and get some cash, maybe throw your less-useful ones away on the battlfield (heavy fighting, suicide missions) to manage your costs and be able to start turning a profit again.

LoL. I must be very unlucky then. I've only played through once with english, but 200+ years of my empire saw every other (or sometimes even 2 out of 3) princes mature with Perversion.

I thought that was intended by the programmers, that'd be the biggest practical joke they could have played =D
