View Full Version : Using a faction slot
Would there be any advantages to devoting another faction slot to the Eleutheroi?

Emmmm.... what? Why would they do that? I´m sorry, but I´ve just never heard anything about giving the Eleutheroi a second faction slot (is that even possible?) and have no idea what it would acheive.
If you could tell me why you think there might be some advantages or where you got the idea to devote a second slot to the Eleutheroi, I would appreciate it.
Perhaps allowing some level of infighting among the Eleutheroi. While its likely none of their tribes were as grasping as the playables, they would have harassed one another to some degree.
Having a second interspersed at random (they would have to be spaced apart a bit) where there were stronger tribes and allowing them to work slowly toward expanding their lands might add a bit more realism.

That would be interesting.

It's a rather nice idea, but I don't think it would fit EB, given that they have claimed that all factions will be playable. Other problems are that it would be hard to decide which provinces should belong to this faction, and that I don't think there can be two rebels, and thus one could engage in diplomacy and such with this secound rebel-faction, which would be strange, as if you ally, say, the indians, you automatically ally some celts and such as well.
It would ultimately be in the same vein as the Eleutheroi, as far as we, the players, are concerned the two factions would fight us to the death. But certain small elements within would fight each other also.

I think there can only be one rebel faction. You know, rebel as in will always be at war with everyone. But don´t qoute me on that, this is unproven ground for me.

Yes, but that don´t last for long, and once they´re at war with them, they can never go back to not being at war with them.
Anyway, I think we need some expert to help us clear this out.

Only one faction is hardcoded to act as the rebels. You can make a second faction with the same color and same name but it will just be a faction and opperate as such.

Come on man, it´s the internet for Christ´s sake. I could have said that anywhere and it spread. Maybe someone even stole it from me and pretended that he was the first to say it. But, the truth is that I were first to say it.
I first posted it on a thread over at these forums. I don´t remeber in what thread, just that it was ages ago.
